The Aerospace, Defense and Marine (AD&M) business unit of TE is part of the Industrial Solutions segment -- a world leader in the design of components and electrical interconnection solutions that are used for applications in extreme and harsh environments. Job Overview

The Aerospace Defense and Marine (AD&M) business of TE Connectivity are leaders in the development and engineering of a comprehensive portfolio of contactors, relays, sensors, fiber optics, wires, cables, antennas, circuit protectors and moldings for harsh environments. The Aerospace & Defense (A&D) Connector business unit ($600M revenue) has an opportunity for a Financial Analyst based out of Harrisburg, PA. This position will report to the FP&A  & Commercial Finance lead for ADM Connector Business Unit. A key focus of the role is to provide support to the A&D Connector Executive team and Product Management & Engineering team. The position is a Finance business partner to A&D Connector executive team driving improvement of visibility into Product team financial performance and support decision-making for portfolio investments. The analyst will have a significant impact on driving profitable growth within the portfolio and assist the team in achieving their short term and long term performance goals.

The position supports the ADM Connector team with preparation of annual budgets, Quarterly forecasts, Product deep dive, monthly Risk & Opportunities and Strategic plan. The analyst will drive routine reporting and tracking, communicate underlying drivers to variances and perform other ad hoc analysis, as needed. The incumbent will interact with multiple levels in the organization across PM, Engineering, Sales and Manufacturing Operations. Another key element of the role is to improve financial knowledge and controls within the portfolio ensuring 100% compliance with TE financial policy and increased awareness amongst non-Finance functions.
 

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Consolidation and reconciliation of monthly forecast & reporting package with SAP / Cognos.
  • Preparation of weekly and monthly flash reports and bridges along with supporting narratives
  • Support preparation of monthly forecast summaries, review & document deltas to plan, strategic plans, budget, quarterly forecasts, MOR (Monthly Operating review) and other ad-hoc projects, requests and presentations
  • Provide analytical support to ensure BU achieves its strategic financial goals including portfolio balancing
  • Perform ad-hoc billings/bookings and margin / mix analysis to identify trends, gaps and problems.
    • Review low margin products and identify price and margin opportunities to improve customer and global product line profitability
    • Daily, weekly and monthly review of book, bill and standard margin
    • Analyze actual and forecasted orders, sales, standard margin, product mix, price erosion
    • Analyze and model trends by customer, product family, region, market, etc.
    • Drive financial reconciliation of S&OP outputs from demand, sales and supply chain
  • Prepare monthly productivity reporting
  • Prepare Opex forecast & support PM / Engineering in resource prioritization / cost out initiatives
  • Proactively communicate potential risks & opportunities, through variance, bridges & decision support analysis
  • Analysis of product costs in support of pricing activities
  • Support and validate cost manufacturing improvement initiatives.
  • Capital project proposals and analysis
  • Supporting and validating financial projections for PAC/LeanPD and S&OP
  • Support Product P&L creation process
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives
  • Proactively apply TEOA-F principles in order to continuously improve financial and other associated processes

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or Economics; Advanced degree preferred
  • 4+ yrs of progressive experience in finance, accounting, or consulting.
  • Strong financial, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Highly skilled Excel & PPT user. SAP, Hyperion or other data warehouse experience a plus.
  • Strong oral & written communications skills, solid organization & planning skills, team player
  • Present insightful analysis and articulate recommendations in a clear and concise manner
