Job Overview

Reporting to the Senior Director, TEOA, the Corporate Regional TEOA Director, will be responsible for leading the deployment of TEOA across all BU’s within the region.  He/she will work with BU implementation teams to drive and facilitate the deployment of the TEOA culture and process.  He/she will act as the subject matter expert for the TEOA methodology with responsibility for all TEOA activities in the region, including all TEOA functional areas such as S&OP, Procurement, Logistics.

Important challenges for the role:

  • Development of TEOA deployment plans consistent with business unit & corporate strategic and tactical planning.
  • Supporting and mentoring TEOA practitioners at the BU and site level to enable them to succeed in the TEOA deployment.
  • Identification and organization of resources required to achieve successful implementation in accordance with plans.
  • Coordination of regional and global initiatives in order to achieve consistency and standardization across the company.
  • Managing and controlling individual project teams and deployment plans at the regional and functional levels.
  • Provide thought leadership in lean management philosophy.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Candidate Profile:

The successful candidate will be a “change agent” with an extensive background in operations improvement and leadership of major transformation initiatives for large organizations.  The ideal candidate will have a minimum of twelve (12) years of experience, ideally including line management experience in operations and/or supply chain.  Experience with a business and operational environment similar to that of Tyco Electronics is a strong plus (i.e., multi-market, high and medium volume, high mix-high churn).  It is essential that the successful candidate demonstrates strategic thinking, is grounded in operations and has a strong customer focus.

This individual will be an exceptional team player with the attributes of a mentor or teacher who can develop and build a performance-oriented organization.  He/she will have solid executive presence and exceptional communications skills.  Exceptionally strong drive, sense of urgency, energy level and problem-solving abilities will be critical for his/her success.  The ability to work across all disciplines and throughout all levels of an organization in a persuasive and credible manner is a must, effectively interfacing with customers, suppliers, partners, distributors and internal peers.

Functional and Technical Knowledge:  The successful candidate has deep knowledge of relevant supply chain processes, including sales and operations planning, procurement, manufacturing, distribution and logistics.  He/she has a strong understanding of how to drive process improvement in companies with complex environments.  He/she has extensive knowledge of best-in-class operations improvement tools such as Lean and Six Sigma.

Driving Results:  The successful candidate brings a strong track record of demonstrated results.  He/she has solid project management skills and a willingness to “roll up their sleeves” to get the job done.  He/she is solutions-oriented, and has strong analytical and problem solving skills.  This hands-on executive inspires trust and confidence in colleagues to achieve the highest standards of performance.

B.S. and/or M.S. in industrial engineering or relevant discipline is required.  M.B.A. is strongly desired.
