Job Overview

At TE, we are building a world-class advanced analytics team that will solve some of the most complex strategic problems and delivers topline growth and operational efficiencies across our business. The Analytics Director role is part of the analytics leadership team and a critical strategic partner to the Industrial Segment and will lead the planning and implementation of Analytics initiatives across multiple Business Units and functions within the Segment.  The ideal candidate has demonstrated experience in working closely with the business, identifying/defining analytics opportunities and leading analytics initiatives that deliver significant and measurable value in a global industrial setting. This position will be instrumental in shaping TE’s analytics vision and strategic roadmap.  


The Analytics Director will work closely with leaders across all functions including product management, sales, marketing, operations, and finance to understand business priorities, identify and define use cases for data analytics that drive growth, deliver extraordinary customer experience and operational efficiencies. This includes turning strategies into tangible initiatives and projects detailed against execution timelines. For this role, a proven leader with demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams as well as driving strategic initiatives throughout a sizable organization is essential.

  1. “Size the prize” from applying analytics (descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, prescriptive) across Industrial segment business units and functional domains.
  2. Partner with the business units at the senior executive level to develop analytics strategies, roadmaps and investment plans to achieve business goals.
  3. Shape future analytics demands of initiatives that drive analytics maturity, have defined value impact and scale across business units.
  4. Constructively challenge the segment to refine its “where to play” and “how to win” choices to drive growth, improve profitability, and sustain competitive advantage.
  5. Champion the use of data as a strategic business asset.  Create and scale data-driven processes, decisions, and culture across the business team.
  6. Work closely at all levels across the business to identify opportunities and define use cases for data analytics that result in delivering measurable value.
  7. Create compelling, persuasive presentation materials to communicate business case/value and recommendations clearly and concisely.
  8. Define scope and manage the delivery of proof of “value” analytics initiatives.
  9. Provide direction and partner with the technical delivery teams execution to scale analytics initiatives with speed and agility.
Skills Required

  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in applying analytics to solve business problems and identify new opportunities across a variety of functional areas in a global industrial setting (global manufacturing preferred).
  • Significant experience in strategy, development, implementation of advanced analytics.
  • Understanding of and hands on experience using analytical concepts and statistical techniques: hypothesis development, designing tests/experiments, analyzing data, drawing conclusions, and developing actionable recommendations.
  • Experience leading actionable insights initiatives leveraging with a variety of analytics techniques including machine learning, deep learning, NLP and data visualization tools (Tableau, PowerBI). 
  • Understanding of databases and cloud technologies such as Oracle, SQL, Hadoop, Redshift, Hana.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated experience engaging and influencing senior executives.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to quantify both potential and realized business value impact.
  • Transformational leader with process improvement knowledge and experience developing ongoing continuous improvements with quantifiable results in upgrading talent, processes, and systems.
  • Strong social/participative leadership style with the ability to listen to employees and customers, demonstrate flexibility while delivering consistent performance.
  • Ability to work across an organization, share success, and build a culture that embraces change and growth.
