Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s internship program is designed to provide interns with real world experience to enhance classroom knowledge. Uniquely crafted assignments and meaningful projects provide interns with a challenging 10 – 12 week experience. Interns will gain exposure to senior leadership and be given professional development opportunities. At the end of the summer, interns will be provided the opportunity to pursue full-time placement within TE Connectivity.  

Responsibilities & Qualifications

The TE Engineering Internship (Summer 2018) opportunity is designed to provide the participant with a variety of challenging projects that help him/her further develop a strong background in applying probability and statistics to real data, as well as defining a problem and evaluating the effectiveness of different techniques in solving these problems. The participant should have a strong technical background in Systems Engineering and strong collaborative teamwork skills. As an intern in TE’s Digital Engineering/Manufacturing/Operation (DEMO) Group, the participant will report to the Digital Manufacturing Manager and interface directly with the Digital Factory team to gain hands-on experience, while interacting with various areas of the company.

•Analyze source data and data flows, working with structured and unstructured data.
•Manipulate high-volume, high-dimensionality data from varying sources to highlight patterns, anomalies, relationships and trends
•Apply AI/Machine Learning technology to solve real-world problems (Cloud-based platforms).
•Work with supervised and un-supervised learning methodologies.
•Analyze and visualize diverse sources of data, interpret results in the business context and report results clearly and concisely
•Execute both descriptive and inferential ad-hoc requests in a timely manner
•Communicate and present models to business customers and executives
•Work collaboratively with different business partners and present results in a clear and concise manner
•Assist others to leverage the use of AI/Machine Learning


•Working towards Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (IE/CS/Statistics/Mathematics).
•Demonstrated ability in the application of Machine Learning/AI in real-world data.
•Excellent communication skills and ability to simplify complex topics for broad audiences.
•Ability to prepare reports and conduct presentations.
•Demonstrated ability in data-driven decision making and quantitative analysis skills. A desire to create and develop new processes, technique and methodologies.
•Knowledge on Data Mining and Analytics using big data
•Good knowledge of SQL and high proficiency in data modeling is a plus
•High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.
•Experience with Tableau or any equivalent data visualization or BI tools.
•Strong motivation towards state of the art techniques and technologies.
