Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s internship program is designed to provide interns with real world experience to enhance classroom knowledge. Uniquely crafted assignments and meaningful projects provide interns with a challenging 10 – 12 week experience. Interns will gain exposure to senior leadership and be given professional development opportunities. At the end of the summer, interns will be provided the opportunity to pursue full-time placement within TE Connectivity. 


Working in the Middletown PA Corporate Technology Materials group, the successful candidate will contribute to new Additive Manufacturing process design, validation, development and characterization. The Co-op/Internship provides students the opportunity to apply their academic background to attack practical Additive Manufacturing problems and deliver solutions which may have significant impact on future products and manufacturing processes of TE Connectivity.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

  • Scoot and invent up-to-date technology solutions for practical Additive Manufacturing problems.
  • Design components and subassembly of mechanical equipment with CREO or Solidworks software.
  • Analyze mechanical design and manufacturing processes with simulation software, ANSYS software is preferred.
  • Design and realize electrical system prototype
  • Program control system software.
  • Design and conduct statistical experiments (DOE) for characterizing and optimizing manufacturing processes.
  • Summarize, document and present project status, technology proposals, and technical learnings.


The candidate should:

  • Have a fundamental understanding of mechanical manufacturing processes, including but not limited to machining, plastic injection molding, assembly and 3D printing.
  • Be willing to take responsibilities and drive problem-solving with reasonable amount of guidance.
  • Be familiar with mechanical 3D design and 2D drawings. CREO or Solidworks are preferred.
  • Mechanical structure and process simulation skills are preferred.
  • Electrical skill and control system knowledge are preferred.
  • Must have computer programming skill.
  • Understand basic statistical experiments and tools.
  • Graduate student in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial  Engineering, Electrical Engineering (or related feild) with at least a 3.0 GPA in major.
