Job Overview

The Production Supervisor is responsible for achieving the production plan meeting quality goals and on-time delivery dates while maintaining a safe workplace in the production of precision machined medical tubing.  This position supervises daily/weekly output against backlog requirements based on material & capacity availability, and proactively identifies and resolves potential bottlenecks utilizing groups leads and other production resources. This position has direct reports.


2nd shift

Monday-Thursday, 5pm-2am

Job Responsibilities
  • Provides direct supervision to manufacturing personnel, including scheduling of tasks, setting of goals, quality oversight, and assisting in performance evaluations.
  • Maintain consistent workflow and on-time delivery
  • Supervise and facilitate resources to maintain on-time schedules by fully understanding production backlog and proactively identifying risks and opportunities
  • Identify and communicate priorities when resource limitations arise in order to maintain customer OTD
  • Maintain and improve lean flow lines to meet customer and business commitments
  • Ensure safe work practices are used at all times and maintain accountability for daily department 5S procedures
  • Identify and support continuous improvement activities including problem solving and participating in kaizen events
  • Assure all transactions and procedures are accurate and timely to maintain proper labor and material accounting
  • Assist with training and coaching of department employees
  • In conjunction with HR, perform employee evaluations, reviews, and disciplinary actions
  • Maintain employee cross-training program and develop backup resources to maintain a flexible workforce capable of meeting changing customer demand
  • Monitor attendance & overtime and assist keeping staffing levels at capacity
  • Understand and support TE policies, being an example of leadership to others in the department
  • Lead the expediting of problem fixes (late material, change orders issues, documentation issues, etc.) with the appropriate resource areas in a proactive manner in order to stay on schedule and meet customer OTD commitments
  • Create and maintain a positive and engaged working department that values safety, improvement, participation, quality, and achieving goals, visibly recognizing individuals for achievement and coaching individuals to succeed
  • 5-10 years of experience in industrial manufacturing.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent technical discipline.
  • Experience may be considered in lieu of a degree for a candidate who can demonstrate the combination of experience, training and education to be capable of successfully fulfilling all duties and responsibilities of the position.
