Job Overview

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-driven SAP Buyer to support procurement activities within a regulated medical device manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for purchasing materials, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality standards.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring an uninterrupted supply of components while maintaining full traceability and compliance within the SAP system.

Job Requirements

Key Responsibilities

    • Create, process, and manage purchase orders in SAP for direct and indirect materials.
    • Ensure that purchasing master data and pricing is accurate to support an efficient MRP output.
    • Source and evaluate suppliers in line with Approved Supplier Lists and quality standards.
    • Ensure purchased materials meet regulatory and quality requirements.
    • Monitor inventory levels and demand forecasts to ensure continuity of supply.
    • Work closely with Quality Assurance to support supplier qualification, audits, and performance reviews
    • Maintain accurate and compliant procurement records within SAP, ensuring full traceability (batch/lot control where applicable)
    • Manage supplier performance, including on-time delivery, quality issues, and corrective actions
    • Collaborate with engineering and production teams on new product introductions and change controls.
    • Expedite deliveries and resolve supply chain issues to minimise production disruption
    • Support cost reduction initiatives while maintaining quality and compliance standards
    • Address invoice discrepancies and support finance with 3-way matching (PO, GR, Invoice)

What your background should look like

  • Degree /Diploma in Business, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent
  • Proven experience in a procurement or purchasing role, ideally within medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or a regulated environment
  • Strong working knowledge of SAP
  • Understanding of quality systems and regulatory standards
  • Experience managing supplier relationships in a controlled supply chain
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Close attention to detail, especially regarding data accuracy and traceability
  • Effective communication skills with cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools
