Job Overview

The Aerospace, Defense and Marine business unit is a part of TE Connectivity -- a world leader in the design of components and electrical interconnection solutions that are used for applications in extreme and harsh environments. These interconnect solutions make possible applications like avionics, jet engine management, flight controls, grounding systems and harness assemblies, in-flight entertainment (IFE) and cabin systems for today's "connected aircraft". Vertical markets served include commercial and military aviation, space, military ground vehicles, unmanned / drone vehicles, as well as marine offshore oil and gas development. 


The Electrical / Mechanical Engineer is responsible for design, development, and sustaining engineering of contactors/relays, power distribution panels and related products for applications in aerospace electrical power distribution and management systems. This role is located in Mansfield, OH. Candidates from other states are welcome to apply as we offer relocation assistance. 



  • Generate and maintain project documentation including schematics, drawings, test data, and reports
  • Design and develop electronic circuits while incorporating mechanical design (70% mechanical design/ 30% circuit design)
  • Work independently and within a team-based environment
  • Tasks will include using equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies and additional test equipment
  • Plan and record results of design and development activities, including validation testing.
  • Design to cost target while meeting financial and performance expectations.
  • Manage Bill of Materials for new products.
  • Facilitate cost reduction activities on new and existing products.
  • Perform calculations, analysis, and testing to ensure that a product meets specifications.
  • Participate in and/or lead Design and Process failure mode and effects analysis.
  • Provide support to both internal manufacturing, quality, Product/Project Managers and external customers.
  • Initiate and manage engineering change activities.
  • Collaborates with other colleagues and peers
  • 10% travel domestic/international (Passport will be required).

What your background should look like:

Must haves: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Electrical Engineering, Electronics or similar)
  • 2 or more years of relevant experience. 
  • Knowledge of circuit design, testing, and troubleshooting
  • Basic knowledge of CAD programs
  • Must meet ITAR* requirement and be able to travel domestically and internationally


Nice to have:

  • Experience in mechanical design
  • Knowledge of electro-mechanical devices and/or magnetics (e.g., relays and contactors)
  • Knowledge of EMI/EMC is a plus
  • Experience in the use of Creo Wildfire
  • Windchill PDMLink is a plus
  • Knowledge of analog circuitry
  • Knowledge of ANSYS or similar analysis tools is a bonus
  • Experience in Altium software or similar software is a bonus
