Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s Technical Engineering Support Teams analyze, test and assist in research for the development of products and processes. Team members may specialize in quality control or assurance, chemical manufacturing processes, metals, electrical connectors and components, process development, materials, and/or instrumentation. They may also handle calibration, displays, network control, mold development and audiovisual work or environmental health and safety. The Technical Engineering Support Teams are responsible for the completion of assigned engineering projects within budgetary and scheduling guidelines. They plan, prioritize, and manage multiple engineering projects; prioritize tasks and assign team members to ensure that the team's overall resources are used effectively and that project deadlines are met. They evaluate and authorize changes that significantly impact the scope, budget, or timeline of a project. At times, they may work directly with customers to understand needs, gather customer requirements, identify resources and assess project risks. They create, develop, plan, write and edit operational, instructional, maintenance or test procedures for paper, multimedia or web-based publication, for non-technical and technical users.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

This position is critical to supporting multiple high precision CNC Swiss style sliding head stock machines.  The Swiss technician will be responsible for implementing new state of the art Swiss style screw machines in a low volume high mix environment. Also create new programs utilizing ESPRIT software, implement best tooling practices, provide hands on support to set up and operator personnel, and maintain cycle times while improving machine efficiency.  A strong background in Swiss programming, LEAN principles, QCO, Kaizen, QCPC, and Microsoft Office is key to the success of this individual.


The Swiss technician will have responsibilities that will include but not be limited to:

  • Set up time reduction
  • Program creation and optimization
  • Process documentation
  • Developing training programs
  • Supporting the set up and operator personnel
  • Improving machine efficiency
  • Cutting tool optimization
  • Leading Cost savings projects

Qualifications include:

  • Eligible candidates will possess a minimum 6 -8 years of machining industry experience.
  • 2-4 years’ experience programming Swiss style machines
  • Associate degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering.
  • Very strong mechanical aptitude
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Quick learner of new machining technologies and the ability to teach others
  • Demonstrated analytical skills.
  • Lean/Six Sigma knowledge, DMAIC Green belt is a plus
  • Working knowledge of Excel, Word, Power Point, and Outlook
  • Travel may be required for this position, North America including Mexico
