Job Overview

The Aerospace, Defense and Marine (AD&M) business unit of TE is part of the Industrial Solutions segment and is a world leader in the design of components and electrical interconnection solutions that are used for applications in extreme and rigorous environments. These interconnection solutions make possible applications of avionics, jet and propulsion engine management, flight controls, grounding systems and on-board entertainment (EAB) for today's "connected aircraft". This capability is extended to military, marine, aviation, space, land and drone vehicles, as well as oil and gas exploration of open-ocean deposits. TE offers solutions for enhanced connectivity that work and resist in the most extreme environments on Earth, from the deepest oceans to the ends of space. We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist for 2nd shift role with working hours of  Monday-Thursday 3.45pm-1.45am, offering 10% shift premium and eligibility for overtime.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Applies advanced job skills in area of specialization to set up and operate CNC machining equipment
  • Read, interpret and follow blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation
  • Ability to read and understand G and M code programming
  • Operate CMM’s and digital inspection equipment
  • Regularly adapts procedures, techniques, tools, materials and/or equipment to meet print specifications
  • Work with team to trouble shoot operations and/or flow issues
  • Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards, and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified
  • Meet documented and communicated standards for quality and productivity
  • Keep records of production quantities and time
  • Work safely with small hand tools and measuring equipment
  • Maintain  safe and clean work area by complying with procedures, rules and regulations
  • Works under minimal supervision and acts independently
  • Provides guidance and training to others

What your background should look like:

  • Associates degree from a trade school and/or job-related vocational training preferred
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience required
  • Experience with G&M codes is preferred
  • Experience with tight tolerances is helpful
  • Use independent judgement and basic problem-solving skills to accomplish tasks
  • Follow both written and verbal instructions, with a high attention to detail
  • Flexibility to work overtime to meet company demands
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to work in a confined space

Physical requirements:

  • Ability to lift 40 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
