Sr Manufacturing Engineer (Mechanical)

Job Overview


TE Connectivity is looking for a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer (Mechanical) in our Rt. 230 facility in Mount Joy, PA.  This position will report through the Manufacturing Engineering team in Rt. 230.  Ideally, this individual will have experience in the manufacture of aerospace connectors, harnesses, and components.   Experience with Six-Sigma manufacturing practices in an industrial environment is preferred.


This position requires access to information which is subject to stringent controls under the International  Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. lawful permanent resident, person granted asylee status in the U.S. or person admitted into the U.S. as a refugee.

Responsibilities include but not limited to the following:


  • Support production as a technical leader on multiple production lines by solving technical problems, designing tooling and fixtures, addressing quality issues and improving productivity.
  • React quickly to changing priorities with flexibility and willingness.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing processes and manufacturing documentation.
  • Lead the resolution of quality issues and process deviations.
  • Lead scrap reduction, rate improvement, and cost reduction projects.
  • Lead process/product development projects including sample runs.
  • Design, build and implement tools and fixtures required for assembly and testing.
  • Manage capital equipment projects: specifying, quoting, purchasing and implementing new equipment.
  • Provide Six-Sigma guidance in support of planned events, such as Kaizen.

What your background should look like:



  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of engineering experience in an industrial environment involving aerospace connectors, harnesses, and components.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and be able to communicate at all levels of the organization.
  • Experience with 3D modeling software such as Creo Parametric and Product Data Management software.
  • Experience in designing, printing, and implementing 3D printed fixtures.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and encourage cultural change.
  • Ability to educate and train team members to improve productivity.
  • Ability to travel to vendors and customers (up to 10%.)


Preferred Experience:

  • SAP manufacturing and purchasing.
  • Certifications/experience in soldering such as to IPC J-STD-001.
  • Experience programming/troubleshooting PLCs, test equipment and assembly equipment.
  • Hands-on experience with continuous improvement techniques in Six Sigma.
  • A proven record of achieving cost savings and measurable operational improvements.
  • Experience in bonding.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt is a plus.
