Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Quality Inspector - Final Inspection to join our 1st shift Team in Mount Joy, PA. In this role, you will perform final inspections of precision-machined components and finished products, ensuring compliance with engineering drawings, GD&T requirements, customer specifications, and quality standards.

 

The ideal candidate will possess advanced inspection experience and be highly proficient in blueprint reading, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and dimensional inspection techniques. This is a senior-level position requiring the ability to independently interpret engineering drawings, determine measurement strategies, and perform complex inspections with minimal supervision.

 

Using tools such as CMM, OGP, RAM systems, optical comparators, calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other precision measurement equipment, you will verify product conformance, support customer audits and source inspections, troubleshoot dimensional issues, and collaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing to drive quality excellence.

 

Job Requirements

  • Perform final inspections on precision-machined components and finished products.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements to determine inspection methods and acceptance criteria.
  • Perform dimensional inspections using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, indicators, optical comparators, CMM, OGP, RAM systems, and other precision measurement equipment.
  • Verify complex dimensional characteristics including true position, profile, flatness, concentricity, perpendicularity, runout, and other GD&T callouts.
  • Set up, program, and operate measurement systems to determine whether parts meet engineering print requirements.
  • Inspect products received from internal and external suppliers.
  • Communicate inspection findings and nonconformances to Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Management.
  • Troubleshoot dimensional and inspection-related issues with production personnel and engineering teams.
  • Support root cause investigations related to dimensional nonconformances and product quality issues.
  • Organize and coordinate source inspections on designated product lines.
  • Host customer source inspections and work directly with customers to ensure product acceptance and shipment.
  • Train and mentor inspectors on print reading, GD&T interpretation, inspection methodologies, and advanced measurement equipment.
  • Establish daily priorities and effectively manage multiple inspection activities.
  • Enter, retrieve, and track inspection and quality data within SAP and other business systems.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and other required software tools.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Export Compliance Requirement

This position requires access to information which is subject to stringent controls under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. lawful permanent resident, person granted asylee status in the U.S., or person admitted into the U.S. as a refugee.

What your background should look like

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in a technical discipline preferred.
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of quality inspection experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Advanced ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Strong working knowledge of GD&T and ASME Y14.5 standards.
  • Demonstrated experience performing dimensional inspections directly from engineering prints with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency using precision measurement equipment, including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, indicators, optical comparators, CMM, OGP, and RAM systems.
  • Ability to inspect and validate complex geometric characteristics such as true position, profile, flatness, runout, concentricity, and perpendicularity.
  • Experience supporting aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments preferred.
  • Working knowledge of AS9100 quality management systems.
  • Experience with First Article Inspection (FAI) documentation and inspection processes preferred.
  • CMM programming experience preferred but not required.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must successfully pass the P3 Inspection Skill Evaluation.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • AS9100 experience.
  • Aerospace or defense manufacturing experience.
  • First Article Inspection (FAI) experience.
  • CMM programming experience.
  • Experience training or mentoring other inspectors.
  • Experience working directly with customers during source inspections and audits.

COMPENSATION
•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $51,100 – $76,700  (subject to change dependent on physical location)
•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
•    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
