Job Overview

This position for Quality Engineering Supervisory is within our Aerospace, Defense & Marine business unit and will be an onsite role at our Mount Joy, PA location.

 

The QE Supervisor is responsible for leading a team of TE Connectivity’s Quality and Reliability Engineers to analyze the ability of product and production systems to comply with customer and contractual requirements through established reliability factors. They design, recommend revisions, and install quality control systems, develop, and document analytical methods for establishing the reliability of products and their components, and conduct analysis on relative reliability with regards to cost, structure, weight, maintainability, facility of production, and availability of materials and equipment. They are responsible for policies and practices to comply with applicable government regulations and industry requirements related to product environmental compliance, the implementation and management of technical and testing standards and specifications, quality control and reliability programs governing materials, products, and processes, resulting in the optimization of material and labor, as well as failure analysis, root cause, corrective action, and customer communication.

 

Responsibilities:

-Lead a team of customer-facing quality engineers to provide root cause analysis and corrective action communications to our customers during quality issues within our target timeframes

-Utilize formal problem-solving techniques to resolve product and process related issues, leading cross functional teams

-Lead Cross functional Notice of Escape teams, to ensure containment, root cause analysis, corrective action and communication to customers.

-Evaluate customer requirements during order processing, driving implementation of new customer specific requirements and negotiate requirements not in the best interest of TE Connectivity

-Design and develop forms and instructions for recording, evaluating and reporting quality data

-Review and approval of First Article reports

-Work cross-functionally to disposition nonconforming product found at incoming, in process or returned from customers and approve any deviations required.

-Support direct reports through coaching, development and prioritization of responsibilities.  Holding direct reports accountable for results and task completion.   

What your background should look like:

-Bachelor’s Degree required in a related field to Engineering, Quality or Reliability Engineering. 7+ years of experience in the industry; including 2+ years of supervising others

-Up to 10% travel may be required including international travel

-Excellent presentation skills in addition to written and verbal communication skills required
-Must possess strong problem-solving skills. Advanced problem solving tools such as Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Shainin Red X Journeyman a plus
-Excellent negotiation skills both internal and external to the company required and to drive completion of 8D documents that drive the business to world class manufacturing levels
-Experience leading problem solving teams and utilizing problem solving tools (8D's, 5-why analysis, fishbone diagrams)
-Working knowledge of quality systems in a ISO9001/AS9100 environment a plus

-Good computer skills with a working knowledge of SAP, Word, Excel and PowerPoint

COMPENSATION
•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $101,800 - $152,700 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
•    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
