Job Overview
The Procurement Manager is responsible for leading and developing a team of Buyers supporting both intercompany (TE internal) and external supplier procurement. This role sits between the Supply Chain Manager and the Buyer team, translating plant and network-level supply plans into disciplined purchasing execution.
The Manager ensures material availability, backlog health, supplier performance, and transactional accuracy through standard work, SAP execution, and cross-functional coordination. The role partners closely with Planning, Operations, Quality, Finance, Global Trade Compliance, and Supplier Management to support stable production flow, on-time delivery, and inventory objectives.
Job Requirements
Team Leadership & Execution Management
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Buyers responsible for intercompany and external supplier procurement
- Set daily and weekly execution priorities aligned to MRP signals, production needs, and delivery commitments
- Establish and enforce standard buying routines, escalation paths, and work instructions
- Review Buyer workload, backlog health, and exception handling to ensure timely execution
- Provide clear direction, feedback, and accountability to drive consistent performance
Procurement Execution & Supplier Management
- Oversee execution of purchase orders, confirmations, delivery schedules, and backlog management in SAP
- Ensure timely resolution of expedite, push-out, past-due, and cancellation exceptions
- Lead engagement with external suppliers and TE sister plants to confirm schedules, negotiate adjustments, and resolve constraints
- Escalate supply risks proactively and drive recovery plans for critical shortages
- Monitor supplier delivery performance and ensure corrective actions are defined and tracked
Planning, Operations & Cross-Functional Alignment
- Partner with Planning and Operations to align procurement execution to MPS, MRP, and shop-floor priorities
- Represent procurement status, risks, and constraints in Tier meetings, S&OE routines, and operational forums
- Coordinate with Quality, Finance, and Supplier Quality to resolve invoice blocks, quality holds, and MRB impacts
- Work with Global Trade Compliance to ensure import/export, documentation, and regulatory requirements are met
Backlog, Inventory & Performance Management
- Own buying-related backlog quality, confirmation accuracy, and delivery reliability
- Review material availability risks, inventory exposure, and slow-moving items with the team
- Ensure late reason codes, confirmations, and delivery dates are accurate and maintained
- Track and review KPIs related to delivery performance, backlog health, and transactional accuracy
- Drive corrective actions for recurring execution or data quality issues
Systems, Data & Process Discipline
- Ensure disciplined use of SAP procurement and planning transactions
- Review Buyer execution data, exception reports, and dashboards for accuracy and actionability
- Support continuous improvement of SAP utilization, exception handling, and reporting
- Reinforce data governance standards for purchase orders, confirmations, pricing, and delivery schedules
Continuous Improvement & Capability Building
- Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, supplier reliability, and execution stability
- Identify root causes of chronic shortages, late deliveries, and confirmation mismatches
- Partner with Supply Chain leadership on process maturity improvements across S&OE and procurement execution
- Contribute to standardization of buying processes across internal and external supply networks
What your background should look like
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business, Operations, or related field
- 5+ years of procurement, planning, or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment
- 3+ years of people leadership or team lead experience
- Strong working knowledge of SAP procurement and planning processes a plus+
- Demonstrated ability to manage execution, prioritize work, and resolve supply constraints
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Effective communicator with ability to influence cross-functional partners and suppliers
- APICS / CPIM certification a plus

COMPENSATION
• Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $108,300 - $162,400 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
• Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
