The Aerospace, Defense and Marine (AD&M) business unit of TE is part of the Industrial Solutions segment – a world leader in the design of components and electrical interconnection solutions that are used for applications in extreme and harsh environments. These interconnect solutions make possible applications like avionics, jet engine management, flight controls, grounding systems and harness assemblies, in-flight entertainment (IFE) and cabin systems for today's "connected aircraft". Vertical markets served include commercial and military aviation, space, military ground vehicles, unmanned / drone vehicles, as well as marine offshore oil and gas (MOG) development. TE offers solutions for enhanced connectivity in extreme environments, from the deepest oceans, to deep space exploration. What your background should look like:

Responsibilities 
•    Provide a working interface between the facility, Business Unit Management and the Corporate Environmental, Health and Safety Department. 
•    Create a safety strategy that will support and sustain a strong, positive safety vision and culture within the manufacturing plant.  
•    Develop and implement policies, standards and procedures and work with management to ensure uniform compliance with regards to federal, state, local and company regulations and standards throughout the facility. 
•    Provide safety leadership at management meetings and staff meetings, supporting engagement and commitment to safety from management and all employees.  
•    Serve as facilitator of the safety committee and crisis management team. And ensure that all members are involved in overall EHS management of the facility. 
•    Ensure reporting, tracking, and trend analysis of workplace incidents, injuries as well as environmental incidents. 
•    Work with management to set short and long term goals for EHS improvements which include reductions in injuries and environmental incidents in addition to improved environmental performance and leading metrics for safety.  Support plant management in meeting or exceeding the goals. 
•    Work with plant management to plan, administer and track multiple safety programs including hazardous communication, contractor safety, machine guarding, behavioral based safety, laser safety ergonomics, TE Safety Management System, and other safety policies/procedures. 
•    Facilitate and provide guidance and expertise in EHS activities such as daily workplace inspections, risk assessments, equipment assessments, ergonomic evaluations and industrial hygiene surveys.  
•    Manage facility environmental permits, track annual energy reduction projects and monthly environmental metrics. 
•    Develop and manage the site Business Continuity Plan and coordinate Site Security efforts. 
•    Represent site in overall TE EHS CoE’s, Councils, etc.  Act as the voice of Mt. Joy and Manheim EHS. 
•    Utilize data analytics in driving EHS improvements. 
  
Qualifications 
•    A Bachelor’s or Associates with comparable experience in Environmental or Safety Science or other related technical fields and 5-7 years of EHS working experience in a manufacturing environment. 
•    Working knowledge of industrial ergonomics. 
•    Hazardous waste management experience. 
•    Demonstrated measurable results in change management towards reduced safety incidents, positive safety culture and employee involvement in safety action plans.  
•    Knowledge of lean manufacturing tools; standard work, 5S, Kaizen, and Gemba.  
•    Knowledge of Federal and State of Pennsylvania regulations, procedures and policies. 
•    Written and verbal communication skills to facilitate communication with Business Unit Management, facility staff, and shop floor personnel including ability to prepare and deliver presentations. 
•    Strong organization and documentation skills including ability to use Microsoft Office Suite. 
•    Ability to prioritize issues, analyze root cause and implement effective corrective actions.
