Job Overview

The Data and Devices Advance Manufacturing Process Team conceives original ideas for new manufacturing processes and introduce them into practice. They are responsible for manufacturing development, and qualification from definition through production release; conduct feasibility studies, testing on new and modified designs; direct and support detailed design, testing, prototype fabrication and manufacturing ramp. The Advance Manufacturing Process Teams provide all required product documentation including, but not limited to, Solid Model, 2D/3D production drawings, process specifications, and testing requirements. They create, develop, plan, write and edit operational, instructional, maintenance or test procedures for paper, multimedia or web-based publication, for non-technical and technical users. 


The Advance Manufacturing Process Team is responsible for the completion of assigned projects within budgetary and scheduling guidelines. They plan, prioritize, and manage multiple engineering projects; prioritize tasks and assign team members to ensure that the team's overall resources are used effectively and that project deadlines are met. They evaluate and authorize changes that significantly impact the scope, budget, or timeline of a project. At times, they may work directly with customers to understand needs, gather customer requirements, identify resources and assess project risks. This person will perform a wide range of duties, including: 

 

  • Various machining, fitting and assembly operations to construct prototype dies, molds, assembly tooling, gages and other tools to prove out manufacturing processes
  • Set up and operate lathes, milling machines, drill presses, & surface grinders 
  • Set up and operate stamping presses, and molding machines.
  • Use tools and technologies such as Sink EDM, ZWCad, SpaceClaim, Seimens NX, and Creo
  • Develop working sketches
  • Planning the sequence of operations to achieve specified tolerances and complete work in a minimum time frame
  • Adapting to rapid engineering changes as engineering objectives or customer requirements often change

What your background should look like:

 

 

Successful candidates must have a Bachelors Degree (or technical training certification), along with 3+ years of experience with at least (4) of the following:

  • Tool and Die making
  • Assembly and conditioning of new dies                                                               
  • Assembly and conditioning of new molds                                                            
  • Set up and operation of high-speed stamping presses and associated equipment
  • Set up and operation of molding presses & associated equipment
  • Set up and operation of Mini-Press & associated equipment
  • Operation of lathes, milling machines, drill presses, and surface grinders
  • Using Sink EDM, ZWCad, SpaceClaim, Seimens NX, & Creo
  • Developing working sketches
  • Planning the sequence of operations to achieve specified tolerances and complete work in a minimum time frame.
  • Working to very fine tolerances
  • Using MS Office products and design tools
