Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s Technical Engineering Support Teams analyze, test and assist in research for the development of products and processes. Team members may specialize in quality control or assurance, chemical manufacturing processes, metals, electrical connectors and components, process development, materials, and/or instrumentation. They may also handle calibration, displays, network control, mold development and audiovisual work or environmental health and safety. The Technical Engineering Support Teams are responsible for the completion of assigned engineering projects within budgetary and scheduling guidelines. They plan, prioritize, and manage multiple engineering projects; prioritize tasks and assign team members to ensure that the team's overall resources are used effectively and that project deadlines are met. They evaluate and authorize changes that significantly impact the scope, budget, or timeline of a project. At times, they may work directly with customers to understand needs, gather customer requirements, identify resources and assess project risks. They create, develop, plan, write and edit operational, instructional, maintenance or test procedures for paper, multimedia or web-based publication, for non-technical and technical users.

 

  • Design, construct, and modify complex tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and gauges for new products, responsibilities include, but not limit to, flat black lay-out, forming and assembly tool design and fabrication.
  • Interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to create precision tools and dies
  • Operate and program CNC machines, and other advanced manufacturing tools
  • Perform precision measurements and conduct quality control checks to ensure adherence to strict tolerances
  • Collaborate with engineers, production teams, and other stakeholders to improve manufacturing processes and tool designs
  • Mentor and train junior technicians, sharing knowledge and best practices
  • Develop and implement innovative solutions to complex tooling challenges
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean, organized work environment
  • Document processes, procedures, and technical specifications for future reference

 

What your background should look like:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in tool and die making, mechanical technology, or a related field preferred
  • Minimum 5 years die stamping/forming/designer experience experiences, basic understanding of molded components
  • Minimum 3 years CAD software and CNC programming
  • Advanced proficiency in reading and interpreting complex technical drawings and specifications
  • Expert-level skills in operating manual and CNC machines
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize, managing multiple concurrent deadlines
  • Expertise in tool and die design principles and manufacturing processes
  • Proficiency in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Advanced knowledge of precision measurement techniques and tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers)
  • Strong computer skills, including experience with CAD software (SpaceClaim an Creo preferred)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Willingness to adapt to new technologies and manufacturing techniques
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
  • Capable of standing for extended periods and working in various positions
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
  • Manufacturing facility environment with exposure to noise, heat, and potential hazards
  • May require occasional overtime
  • Must adhere to all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)

COMPENSATION
•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $69,800 – $104,700(subject to change dependent on physical location)
•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
•    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
