Job Overview

TE connectivity is seeking a skilled Lab Technician to join the corporate technology team in Middletown, PA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in plating technologies, lab and chemical management, safety and compliance, etc. In this role, the successful candidate will work closely with other members of the materials development team, as well as engineers from various business units within TE.

This position requires access to export-controlled information subject to U.S. regulations. As such, employment is contingent upon verification that you meet the necessary authorization requirements under applicable export control laws.

· Electroplate samples as requested by scientists and engineers. Operate and maintain lab scale plating equipment. Conduct plating solution analysis (titration, MP-OES, etc.), plating bath make up and adjustments. Perform chemical cleaning processes, assist in pouring, pumping, and dispensing chemicals.

· Laboratory Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment. Maintain laboratory equipment and calibrations. Ensure proper storage and disposal of chemicals.

· Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain laboratory supplies and reagents. Place orders for new materials as needed. Receive and store incoming shipments.

· Maintain accurate and detailed records of experiments in laboratory notebooks. Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations.

· Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations. Properly use personal protective equipment (PPE). Report any safety concerns or incidents promptly.

 

What your background should look like:

· Associate’s degree in chemistry, Materials Science, or related field

· Minimum 1-3 years of experience in a plating laboratory or production environment with knowledge of plating processes, including electroplating and or electroless plating.

· Candidates with higher work experience will also be considered and are encouraged to apply. The position can be adjusted to reflect the experience.

· Proficiency in basic laboratory techniques and equipment operation (XRF, microscopes, MP-OES, ICP, etc.) is a plus.

· Excellent oral and written communication skills

· Highly self-motivated individual and a strong team player with a positive, initiative-taking, and professional attitude

· Strong problem-solving skills and technical ability

· Understanding of laboratory safety procedures and regulations

· Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods. Capable of lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds. Manual dexterity for handling small laboratory equipment and samples.

COMPENSATION
•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $64,600 –$96,800 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
•    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
