Global Strategic Manager - Inventory Control

Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Supply Chain Managers are responsible for the timely, cost-effective procurement, inventory control, planning and quality control of production materials. They ensure the availability of materials in the supply chain, as scheduled, and the maintenance of inventory at the established levels. They coordinate and integrate the flow of materials and information among suppliers, manufacturers, distributors and customers, identifying opportunities for improving efficiency, effectiveness and capabilities of the supply chain. Resources are focused on continuous improvement of the movement of materials through production processes, and the establishment of key performance metrics and benchmarks to monitor actual performance against goals.

What your background should look like:

The TE Connectivity Aerospace Defense & Marine Supply Chain Manager focused on Inventory Control. Responsible for inventory control (raw material, components, sub-assemblies, and finished goods) across global manufacturing sites.  This person will support the 4 sub-business units (SBUs) working for the central supply chain function and reporting to Sr Director Supply Chain.  They will work closely with the strategic procurement team, the SBU supply chain leaders, plant supply chain leads and plant buyer/expediters.

This person will also work on specific projects to be determined based on BU priorities such as:
•    Inventory analysis & reduction
•    Optimizing parameters such as Lot sizes (EOQ for plants and procured parts), MOQ, Safety stocks, et.
•    Coordination of metric tracking (bowler) charts by plant and SBU with roll-up to AD&M
•    Coordination with other business units on cross-BU material flow
•    Aligning inventory targets and actions with procurement, quality and product management

Responsibilities    
Specific responsibilities will include:
•    Design and implement inventory tracking system to optimize inventory control procedures
•    Determine site level inventory entitlement base on order fulfillment strategy
•    Align A,B,C and X,Y,Z stratification of inventory
•    Examine the levels of supplies and raw material to determine shortages
•    Align inventory plans to S&OP
•    Install controls on inventory purchasing based on demand
•    Install controls around MOQ’s and demand
•    Perform daily analysis to predict potential inventory problems
•    Lot sizing analysis – for plant production and for procured parts
•    Customer MOQ vs. vendor Min and set-up analysis
•    Align ADM on actions to burn down slow moving inventory, including process with product management / sales ahead of inventory write-off

Key metrics will include:
•    Inventory turns
•    Inventory to inventory entitlement
•    Gross and Net levels of inventory against budget

Qualifications
•    At least 5 years of Supply Chain, relatable Procurement/Sourcing experience
•    Proven track record that demonstrates ability to achieve desired results
•    Strong people & organizational leadership skills: Reliable; Change agent; People oriented; Approachable
•    Excellent oral and written communication skills, both in 1-to-1 situations and group settings
•    Ability to prioritize very well and maintain appropriate balance in a fast-paced, heavy-workload environment
•    Strong understanding of SAP materials modules
•    Solid Analytical and Problem-solving skills
•    Possess strong and sound continuous improvement knowledge & discipline

Education Requirements
•    Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business discipline
