Job Overview

This position will report into the Metals Strategic Sourcing Manager and will be the North American analyst for Ferrous Strip, Rod/Bar, wire.  Commodity responsibility will include the sourcing for new products and the management of existing spend.  This role also requires engagement with both the engineering and development communities to assure the correct sourcing decision from our products’ inception.  Key performance indicators for this position will target cost improvement, quality control, vendor on-time delivery performance, utilization of elite/strategic and LCC suppliers, as well as other procurement & industry specified expectations and KPI’s.  Position participates in core team meetings, assists in contract negotiations for raw materials, assists the Strategic Sourcing Manager in establishing sourcing strategy, monitors tactical procurement activities within the BU’s, and manages integrated suppliers tactical procurement in TE’s buying systems.
 
Core Responsibilities as Stategic Sourcing Analyst: 
Key Challenges:
-  Annual Key Performance Indicator achievement.  KPI’s include cost, delivery, quality, TEOA-P metrics/processes.
-  Work with Strategic Sourcing Manager and applicable BU's to issue RFQ's, negotiate, award, and update contracts within assigned commodities for the NA region
-  Manage metal value update process in North America
-  Collaborate with BU’s to issue monthly business level forecasts to supply base.
-  Review open orders reports for each supplier and update, expedite, reschedule where necessary
-  Work with Metals Technical team to drive savings through alloy change projects.
-  Lead/participate in scorecard feedback sessions for strategic suppliers.
-  Manage quality issues; working with BU Supplier Quality Engineers and suppliers to resolve disposition and corrective actions.
-   Review, quote, and negotiate requisitions for assigned commodities and convert to purchase orders.
-   Review and process change orders in SAP.
-   Manage all supplier contact and financial information in TE’s systems.

 

Education/Work Experience:
 
Education: Bachelor Degree, Procurement/Supply Chain Management discipline strongly favored.  Advanced Degree a plus.
  
Experience: 3-5 years of experience in procurement / supply chain / operations management or related field.  Understanding of the copper alloy strip industry is a plus.
 
Proven Project Management skills
Experience in RFP process, negotiating contracts and supplier management
 
Computer Knowledge/Proficiency: 
MS Office, focus on Excel/PPT

COMPENSATION
•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $$85,800-107,200 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
•    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
