Job Responsibilities:

TE’s Application Tooling and Hand Tool Team have an established history of innovation, from the invention of the first solderless crimp hand tool in 1941 through the recent launch of automated machines to process high voltage cable terminations for hybrid electric vehicles.  Our flexible solutions range from hand tools for prototyping and low production needs up to state-of-the-art equipment that can produce millions of crimps a year.
Our Application Tooling team is currently seeking an experienced and dynamic leader to fill the role of Supervisor of Operations for our applicator first-time-build and Hand Tool Assembly organization. This position is critical in ensuring the efficient production and delivery of high-quality applicators while maintaining a safe work environment.
The Supervisor of Operations will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the applicator first-time-build process and Hand Tool Assembly from initial design to final qualification and shipment. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a deep understanding of applicators and Hand Tools.
In addition, this individual will manage our tool repair operation.  Ensuring that tool repairs are completed in a timely manner and clear communication between sales, operations, and our valued customers is maintained throughout the process. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

Production Supervision:
•    Control and oversee the production of materials related to First-Time-Build and Legacy applicators.
•    Control and oversee the assembly production of Hand Tool cell.
•    Maintain and track production KPIs. 


Cross-Functional Collaboration:
•    Work closely with the MRP Controller and Applicator Customer Advocate to ensure efficient material planning and resource allocation.
•    Collaborate with Applicator Engineering to align design and documentation with performance requirements


Quality Assurance:
•    Review and maintain quality control measures to ensure On-Quality delivery of applicators.
•    Continuously monitor and improve production processes to meet quality standards

 

On-Time Delivery:
•    Develop and execute strategies to ensure On-Time delivery of first-time build and Legacy applicators.
•    Coordinate with Scheduler and Customer Advocate to manage production schedules and resource allocation to meet delivery deadlines

 

EHS Leadership:
•    Develop and manage Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies and objectives that meet both company and regulatory standards.
•    Conduct trainings to raise awareness among employees and promote safety practices, foster a proactive safety culture.
•    Identify risks and implement corrective measures to mitigate hazards and ensure a safe working environment.
•    Complete incident investigations to analyze incidents, Serious Injury and Fatality potential (SIFp), and near misses, ensuring thorough documentation and compliance with EHS requirements.
•    Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate EHS considerations into operational processes and engage in proactive measures to enhance workplace safety.
•    Maintain emergency response plans to ensure preparedness for potential emergency conditions.


Team Management:
•    Lead, mentor, and develop a team of production staff.
•    Implement performance management systems to drive continuous improvement.
•    Foster a culture of innovation and problem-solving within the team.

Desired Candidate Profile:

What your background should look like:

 

•    HSD or GED required, higher degrees preferred.
•    Extensive experience in production supervision, preferably in a low-volume high-mix manufacturing environment.
•    Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
•    Excellent leadership skills with a proven track record of team development.
•    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
•    Strong understanding of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems and SAP.
•    Familiarity with production scheduling and resource allocation.
•    Strong commitment to quality assurance and on-time delivery.
•    Proven track record in implementing and managing EHS programs.
•    Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

COMPENSATION
•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $76,000 - $110,000 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
•    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
