Job Overview

 

The Aerospace, Defense and Marine (ADM) business unit of TE Connectivity has an opportunity for Senior Manager Controller / Operations Finance Lead. The Controller will be responsible for partnering, mentoring, and leading the controllers of the manufacturing sites within their product group. The Sr Manager, Controller will be a finance business partner to the Plant Group director and report to the Director of Operations Finance. The position is based in the US with the ability to travel up to 25% of the time. 

 

The position has responsibility for the overall financial performance of the Plant Group and drives strong cost controls and opportunities for operational efficiencies. Another key element of the role is to improve financial knowledge and internal control environment within Operations ensuring 100% compliance with TE financial policy. 

 

Job Requirements

Improving financial performance across all operational areas, including material spend, labor, and overhead 

 

- Lead deep dive operations reviews, productivity reviews, gross margin expansion objectives and strategic footprint initiatives 

- Working with Plant Operations teams to help improve performance by promoting standardization and leveraging synergies 

- Driving financial aspects of projects including migration, footprint, and other key projects that require capital investments and restructuring 

- Preparing, consolidating and analyzing forecasted and actual results, bridging performance over time 

- Working with the supply chain organizations to manage inventory levels and freight costs 

- Driving focus on material and conversion productivity 

- Lead the Operations budgeting process, monthly reporting and review cycle and support monthly, quarterly and annual closing and reporting activities 

- Managing, developing and organizing a team of plant controllers 

- Develop and drive KPI’s for team to drive Finance excellence and TEOA-F mindset 

- Drive accurate Standard Costs and lead Annual Re-cost process across sites 

- Ensure strong control environment: policies, DoA, inventory/asset management, accounting activities have proper supporting documentation, reconciliation and sign-offs, audit support & drive actions to mitigate any process weaknesses 

- Partner with the Director of Operations Finance to support functional and business objectives as needed

What your background should look like

 

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (MBA or CPA strongly preferred) 

 

-8–12+ years of progressive finance experience, including: 

-Plant finance / manufacturing finance 

-Cost accounting and standard costing environments 

-Direct experience supporting manufacturing environments (multi-site preferred) 

 

Strong understanding of: 

-Standard costing, variance analysis, and cost roll-ups 

-Labor and overhead absorption models 

-Inventory management and controls (including excess & obsolete) 

-Demonstrated experience leading, coaching, and developing finance teams (including remote/global teams) 

-Experience managing plant controllers or site finance leads 

-Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders without direct authority 

-Proven ability to translate financial data into actionable business insights 

-Strong communication skills with ability to present to senior leadership 

-Experience working in a matrixed, global organization 

 

Strong track record of: 

-Driving margin expansion and cost productivity initiatives 

-Leading financial analysis tied to operational KPIs (yield, scrap, throughput, etc.) 

-Experience leading or supporting: 

-Footprint optimization / restructuring 

-Capital investment evaluations (ROI, NPV, IRR) 

-Deep understanding of internal controls (SOX or equivalent) 

-Experience in audit support and remediation 

-Strong working knowledge of US GAAP (or applicable standards 

-Experience partnering with Operations, Supply Chain, and Engineering 

-Proven experience owning P&L or plant-level financial performance

COMPENSATION
•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $154,900 - $ 232,400 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
•    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
