A TE Connectivity Production Machinist sets up and operates CNC/manual machines (like lathes, mills) to create precision metal parts from blueprints, performs quality checks using CMMs/gauges, maintains equipment, follows strict safety (EH&S) rules, troubleshoots issues, and may work with engineers, requiring blueprint reading (GD&T) and attention to detail for various high-tech industries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Machine Operation: Set up, adjust, and run various manual and CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines, including lathes, mills, and screw machines (like Star, Tsugami).
- Blueprint Interpretation: Read and follow complex blueprints, process sheets, sketches, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
- Quality Control: Perform quality checks, use CMMs (Coordinate Measuring Machines) and digital inspection tools, and document defects.
- Production Tasks: Cut, shape, and produce precision metal components for various assemblies.
- Collaboration: Work with engineers and team members to understand part requirements and resolve operational issues.
- Safety & Housekeeping: Adhere strictly to TE Connectivity's Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) policies and maintain a clean work area.
Typical Requirements:
- Skills: Blueprint reading, GD&T, CNC machine setup, precision measurement, problem-solving, attention to detail.
- Experience: Relevant machining experience; may involve different skill levels (I, II, III).
- Education: High School Diploma or GED.
- Physical: Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 40 lbs, and use hands/fingers.
- Environment: Clean, climate-controlled (warm winters, cool summers) production floor.
In essence, you're a skilled technician ensuring precise metal parts are made safely and accurately for TE's high-tech connectivity products, from setup to final quality assurance.
What your background should look like
Typically requires a minimum of 6 years of related work experience. Requires completion of high school. Vocational training or an AA degree is preferred.

COMPENSATION
• Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $46,500.00 - $77,200.00 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
• Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
• Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
