PMO Leader - Remote

Job Overview

The PMO Leader position holder will have primary responsibility for delivery of a Portfolio of Projects within one of ADMs Business Units. A member of the PMO Leadership Team, the PPM Leader will drive the successful performance of product development projects through leadership of a team of Project Managers following defined methods and processes to achieve commercial and efficiency targets set by the business.
Developing relationships and maintaining a high-level of communication with cross-functional leaders will be critical to the role. You will be required to act as the primary escalation point for all projects within your portfolio and to actively seek solutions to maintain control but apprise the ADM Leadership group of any business affecting changes in a timely and effective manner.

Global Travel is expected 10% of the time (when customers and restrictions allow) 

 The typical activities of the position will cover:
1.    Leadership
⦁    Line manage and develop a team of project managers to deliver, On Target, all projects within the Portfolio.
⦁    Clearly communicate roles and responsibilities of all team members, both within the team and externally.
⦁    Provide mentorship/training opportunities for all team members to enable team members professional success.
⦁    Provide validation of Project status reporting and coaching to the team on appropriate reporting to different levels within the business.
⦁    Act as a gatekeeper for team activity, ensuring that the team are able and empowered to complete those activities which form a part of their role and to ultimately achieve personal and professional objectives.
⦁    Set annual goals for the Team to ensure Project Managers are targeted in line with business strategy and supported through the clear understand of expectations.

2.    Portfolio Execution
⦁    Ensure Project Mangers follow defined process/methodology and utilize established tools to successfully deliver projects to all agreed targets.
⦁    Conduct project/portfolio review meetings with cross-functional groups to support ongoing project success.
⦁    Act as a point of escalation to resolve project issues and resource gaps/conflicting priorities for Project Resources
⦁    Ensure Project reporting completed by Project Managers is complete, suitable for the intended audience, directionally accurate and timely.

3.    Portfolio Reporting
⦁    Ownership of Portfolio Metrics in support of group Strategic Objectives.
⦁    Ownership of Portfolio P&L and commercial targets.
⦁    Provide regular Portfolio level reporting on actual and forecast progress against target, ensuring earlier recognition and resolution of any potential failure.
⦁    Review and validate Project Reporting. Ensure consistency of app
4.    Project Governance
⦁    Act on behalf of the PMO has part of the relevant product group Leadership Team providing Project Assurance, guidance on process, protocol and best practice with regard the successful delivery of all projects within the Portfolio.
⦁    Participate in retrospective activities (Lessons Learned) Conduct Audits of selected projects annually to monitor process adherence.

About You
The ideal candidate will hold proven experience of leadership in a Project Portfolio or PMO Manager role with a proven track record of leadership of a portfolio of high value/profile customer facing projects in a product development / manufacturing environment and the management of a team of Project Managers

⦁    Able to take ownership of the portfolio and drive good decisions within and outside of a matrixed organization to deliver results
⦁    Clear strategic thinker with the ability to execute on priorities
⦁    Self-motivated with the ability to perform in a demanding environment
⦁    Strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills including at senior levels

Results driven
⦁    A professional level of business acumen and good commercial understanding
⦁    Excellent organizational skills
⦁    Project Management Professional (PMP, Prince 2)

Good level of IT capability with detailed experience of Microsoft Office (MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint)
⦁    Flexibility and a willingness to travel
⦁    Technical and commercial education/ experience related to Engineering Manufacturing in a similar industry would be beneficial

•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $113,800 – $142,200 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
•    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
