Position Overview:  

This position is responsible for the design, maintenance, and day to day operational support of TE’s global network security (Firewall/Proxy) architectures.  The individual in this role will be involved in the architecture/strategy, day-to-day management, and projects associated with the network architectures. They will join a team to be the day-to-day support for all Firewall and Proxy related network infrastructure.  Key objectives in this role are technology standardization, simplification, and automation of the firewalls while considering reliability and scalability. 

Responsibilities & Qualifications 

  • Sr. Level experience with Checkpoint Firewall technology (Other FW vendors expertise considered) 
  • Strong knowledge of Enterprise Data Center Networking (Ex: Cisco ACI)
  • Strong experience with Zscaler Cloud Proxy technology (Other vendors expertise considered) 
  • Solid knowledge  of network infrastructure (routing/switching), cloud networking security, and proxy services in order to troubleshoot PC, server, and application Firewall issues.  
  • Robust/broad troubleshooting skills. 
  • Design, install, and maintain highly complex global network and firewall architectures. 
  • Proactively  participates in the resolution of ServiceNow tickets by taking ownership of tickets, resolving and closing with proper detail. Works with other engineers to assist in the closure of tickets where applicable. 
  • Participates or Leads in priority incidents by sitting on MIM (Major Incident Management) bridges. Provides regular status updates to peers and management. Able to translate complex technical issues into layman's terms to provide executive updates. 
  • Monitors and drives Firewall upgrades, patching, replacement, and lifecycle management to ensure environment stability and audit compliance.  
  • Proactively monitors and tune the Firewall architecture to achieve optimum performance levels; provide performance statistics and reports. 
  • Experienced with working in a large, global, follow-the-sun  organization.  
  • Provide off-hours assistance through the use of a global follow-the-sun team and minor rotating on call. May serve as an escalation for on-call issues. 
  • Special projects as assigned. 

What your background should look like:

- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) 

- Minimum of 2+ years of firewall experience 

- Strong knowledge of Network Security principles 

- Strong understating of Enterprise Networking (ports/protocols/packets) 

- Strong knowledge of Application Architecture 

- Excellent troubleshooting skills

COMPENSATION
•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $93,120-139,680 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
•    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
