MGR II LOGISTICS (REMOTE)

Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Distribution & Logistics Teams manage the efficient flow of goods, services and information between point of origin through customer placement in order to meet customer requirements or internal business objectives. They create integrated processes among internal functions such as operations, purchasing and logistics, and outside suppliers. They also focus resources on continuous improvement of the movement of materials through various production processes, and establish key performance metrics and benchmarks relating to supply chain planning/forecasting to measure actual performance against goals on a regular basis.

 

As the Global TRANSPORTATION  and DISTRIBUTION SERVICES MANAGER, you will drive the transportation and distribution services  strategy for the Appliances Business Unit Globally with focused efforts on imports and exports to and from Global manufacturing sites and trading offices along with the storage and order fulfillment from Distribution Centers Globally. You will support both Materials Planning and Customer Care organizations with a main focus on optimizing service levels and overall transportation and DC costs..  Additionally, you will align with Global Logistics and Global Procurement for contract  negotiations and sourcing of potential vendors, and manage the Global Transportation budget. International logistics experience,  and supply chain management is a must requirement and conduct periodic/quarterly service review for both transportation and distribution center activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain and manage the Global SAP transit tables for all lanes within the Appliances Global network.  Fully accountable for accurate data and driving best performance levels.
  • Ensure appropriate quality standards and at the most competitive value from suppliers to deliver the required contract carriage services
  • Build relationships with suppliers and internal customers to drive continuous improvement and cost reductions
  • Lead projects to drive highest levels of service at lowest possible costs for both transportation and distribution services.
  • Ensure that freight and distribution service levels are maximized across all lanes and locations.
  • Provide expertise and leadership for transportation operations, SOPs, IT communications, productivity programs, and relationship building with TE and supplier partners
  • Fully deploy the Appliances Business Unit strategies for both transportation and distribution with focus on  cost/service.

Be responsible to the finance organization for timely reporting of key metrics inclusive of costs and service for Key transportation lanes, forecasts, in-transit inventory as well as distribution center costs per carton and associated forecasts

QUALIFICATIONS

Proven track record of results managing all modes of transportation – truckload and less than truckload over-the-road, including dedicated fleet experience, intermodal, small parcel, heavyweight air, and ocean with both brokerage and direct asset providers Experience developing transportation strategy and managing transportation activities throughout Americas regions; significant experience beyond US-based transportation required Strong project management, analytical, communication and organizational skills

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

Minimum five years of experience in a progressively responsible role within the supply chain and significant international and regional logistics experience with core activities in managing transportation operations and project management Undergraduate degree in business, supply chain, or equivalent work experience;

Bachelor Degree required in an appropriate discipline.
