Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s Engineering Managers provide leadership for cross functional engineering teams. They work with senior management to define technical road maps aligned with market directions and communicate across other Business Units to share applicable technology. Our Engineering Managers leverage TE global technology to increase competitive position and increased value to our customers. They identify relevant technology trends and opportunities, develop relationships and partnerships with key customers, industry leaders and core suppliers, define and manage IP strategy, assess talent and implement development plans to assure succession planning and organization capability.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead the NA Infotainment Mechanical Engineering team
  • Help to define Performance and Development Objectives and complete employee evaluations
  • Awareness of Global Data Connectivity Portfolio
  • Awareness of Data Connectivity Product and Technical Roadmaps
  • Work closely with product development engineers to complete engineering deliverables throughout the new product development execution process
  • Assure completion of designs, deliverables, and engineering documentation, including the following:
  • CREO component and assembly models and drawings per TE and industry standards
  • Design release per TE standards and systems
  • Tolerance Analysis – worst case and statistical
  • Stubbing, scooping, component engagement, and contact wipe layouts
  • Potential Failure Mode and Effects Analysis – DFMEA
  • Testing requirements, test requests and test reports (DVPR/PVPR)
  • Application and product specifications

Key Responsibilities

•    Solid product development engineering skills
•    Ability to work well both within a team dynamic and independently
•    Excellent listening, questioning, coaching, verbal and written technical communications skills
•    Delivery of high-quality, technically-accurate, presentations and communication
•    Knowledge of CAD design and detailing
•    TE Engineering systems and Practices (PDM / DMTec)
•    Sense of urgency combined with strong attention to detail as well as the ability to multi-task and react quickly to changing priorities

What your background should look like:

Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge:
•    BS Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience, plus 8 or more years working in an engineering role
•    Understanding of internal/external specifications
•    Aptitude to learn new systems and processes
•    Work under pressure to meet objectives and set deadlines
•    Basic understanding of molding, stamping, and assembly required
•    Basic understanding of metals and engineering polymers required
•    Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical testing techniques required
•    Basic high-speed electrical engineering knowledge desirable
•    Professional, structured, autonomous, and creative work style
•    Customer oriented (internal and external) and capable to liaise on technical matters
