Job Overview

The Manager Project Management Engineering reports directly to HIS Global PMO. This role will be responsible for driving efficiency to maximize value and return on investment in Americas and Europe (EMEA) region.

The Manager Project Management Engineering for Americas & Europe Region will handle:    

 

Strategy:  

  • Lead the development of PMO Strategy & Focus areas and finalization of team goals.  
  • Develop and publish metrics & insights on the product development organization’s performance and lead focused activities for improvements.  
  • Support the HIS PMO in completing PMT activities to align cross-functional resources, including people and investment, to the most critical needs of the business.  
  • Contribute to developing improvement strategies to reduce costs, control resource expenditure and drive business growth.  

 

Execution:

  • Lead the Americas & Europe Region through New Product Introductions (NPI), including all phases of definition, development, and launch. Ensuring timely completion of deliverables to progress the projects in alignment with customer schedules.  
  • Focus on team capabilities to accelerate product time-to-market and effective cost management.  
  • Identify, develop, and effectively deploy tools to enable Portfolio Management with cross-functional stakeholders.  
  • Ensure suitable tools and process & methodology exist to support the efficient execution of projects while maintaining accurate records of project activity.  
  • Drive the capture and analysis of resource forecasting and expenditure data to provide an efficient mechanism to understand resource utilization and decision impact.  
  • Responsible for planning, execution & delivery of multiple high complex projects or portfolios, including NPD, sustaining and advanced projects.  
  • Work with Project Stakeholders (Ex. Product Manager, FAE/Sales, Engineering Manager etc.)  to define the Project Goals. 
  • Work with project team for well control of project documentation following LEANPD process

  • Build and continuously improve Project Management capabilities including a high performing Team, effective processes, and tools.  
  • Create a people strategy to support continued growth and business continuity across America and EMEA region.  
  • Optimize the team structure aligned to changing business need and continued growth.  
  • Create mechanisms to: Define competency requirements for all roles within the group to support development and succession planning.  
  • Develop communication and employee engagement strategies.  

Job Requirements

 

CAPEX/OPEX Management: Conduct monthly reviews with the team, maintain detailed records of CAPEX changes, and generate forecasts based on project progress. 

Project Progress Tracking: Monitor the progress, risks, and escalations of in-team projects on a weekly basis. 

PMO Meeting Participation: Attend regular PMO meetings, summarize project highlights and lowlights, and ensure timely project delivery. 

Project Delivery Leadership: Demonstrate strong passion for leading key projects to on-time delivery and proactively seek opportunities for early delivery. 

Continuous Improvement Support: Support the PMO in proposing ideas for continuous improvement. 

What your background should look like

 

  • A minimum of 10 years professional experience & at least 5 years working experience in Project Management or equivalent leadership proven skills in leading, developing, and managing global projects. 
  • Track record of delivering consistent and demonstrable year-over-year improvements aligned to business strategy.  
  • Experience at driving risk mitigation and using risk tracking tools to improve overall business performance and gaining business unit acceptance of risk mitigation tools and methodologies.  
  • Experience in design engineering and the product development stage gate process.  
  • Proficiency in standard reporting/presentation and data analysis tools.  
  • PMP (or comparable alternative) qualified.  
  • Experience in Six Sigma and Lean methodologies is desirable.  
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong influencing and motivational skills and the ability to build strong, credible relationships with multiple organization functions (inside and outside of TE).  
  • Strong escalation management skills.  
  • Excellent judgment, timely and high quality decision-making skills.  
  • Strong ability to set goals and lead and motivate team members, develop, coach and recruit team members. 

 

Education  

  • An Undergraduate degree in Engineering or equivalent is required. A Master’s degree in Engineering or MBA is preferred.

COMPENSATION
•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $131,500 - $175,000 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
•    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
