The team reports to the Chief Data Officer at TEIS, works closely with the SVP of Corporate Strategy, and has regular interactions with the company’s C-Suite.
In our exciting journey to build and scale our advanced analytics practice, we are looking for a Lead Data Engineer who can play an important role in the execution of strategic initiatives.
Objective:
The Lead Data Engineer position is a pivotal global leadership role responsible for managing and mentoring data engineering teams worldwide. This role focuses on partnering with internal TE customers to revolutionize outdated data warehouse systems into a cohesive, streamlined architecture. The goal is to establish a single source of truth to facilitate quicker and more informed decision-making.
In this position, you will lead discussions with business and functional teams to understand their processes, tools, and data. You will develop appropriate data acquisition strategies for the TE data excellence program and convert business needs into technical specifications for development teams. You will also manage the execution of large-scale projects, resolving challenges to ensure successful outcomes with offshore teams in India, the Philippines, Europe, and the USA.
This role requires expertise in working with different business units and processes, including sales, purchasing, engineering, logistics, and supply chain. You will collaborate with the data governance team to ensure compliance with data standards.

- Implement robust data acquisition, integration, and management frameworks to support enterprise-wide analytics.
- Lead conversations with business units to understand their data requirements and improve engagement.
- Serve as the techno-functional lead, translating business requirements into technical specifications for development teams.
- Oversee delivery and identify/mitigate roadblocks to ensure successful delivery of large-scale programs.
- Lead multiple teams, including data engineers, analysts, and BI developers, to acquire, cleanse, blend, and manage disparate datasets.
- Act as the key anchor for data extraction, preparation, and hosting processes.
- Ensure adherence to data governance guidelines to maintain data quality and reliability.
- Provide technical leadership on analytics projects, aligning them with business objectives.
- Identify opportunities for data optimization and automation.
- Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture.
- Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional and non-functional business requirements.
- Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements, such as automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, and redesigning infrastructure for greater scalability.
- Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from various sources.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including the Executive, Product, Data, and Design teams, to address data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.
What your background should look like:
- 7+ years of experience in a Data Engineer role.
- Expertise in data modeling, ETL development, Data Lake, and Data Warehousing.
- Proficient in implementing complex data architectures on both cloud and on-premises environments, handling structured and unstructured data.
- Advanced SQL skills with experience in RDBMS design and query building (Oracle, SQL Server, Redshift, etc.).
- Experience extracting and ingesting data from SAP ERP and/or Oracle into cloud platforms like AWS.
- Proficiency in data processing using tools such as EMR and Databricks.
- Experience in data modeling using Snowflake or Redshift.
- Familiarity with AWS services including S3, Glue, and Athena.
- Proficiency in Unix or other shell scripting and exposure to job scheduling software like Control-M.
- Strong attention to detail and logical thinking in building, testing, and reviewing data pipelines.
- Commitment to coding and naming standards.
- Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts and inspire stakeholders at all levels.
- Subject Matter Expertise (SME) in areas such as Sales, Marketing, Procurement, or Inventory.
- Proven track record of successfully driving and delivering projects.
- Strong project management skills, delivering projects on time and within budget.
- Systematic problem-solving skills, including familiarity with Lean methods.
- Excellent proficiency in English, both written and verbal, with the ability to handle complex technical requirements gathering and documentation.

COMPENSATION
• Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $146,100 – $219,200 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
• Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
• Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
