Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Industry Sales Teams manage sales to a specific industry, targeting customers with specialized knowledge regarding demand and future outlook of that sector.

Purpose of the Role:

Sr. Manager, Technical Sales & Business Development position is a dual function role of field applications engineering and business development focused on the subsea defense market. It is a key role to provide upfront applications engineering support to our customers while looking for market trends and/or technology gaps to grow our position within the subsea defense market.

What you'll be doing:

 

Field Application Engineering Functions:

 

•    Professionally represents TE as a highly competent technical, sales specialist; ensuring high customer confidence and satisfaction.
•    Confidently presents a working knowledge of TE MOG BU capabilities and competencies through presentations, sales samples and collateral materials. 
•    Develop and maintain a strong knowledge of the broad range of the company's products and services.
•    Creates and grows relationships with technical and influential stakeholders within our customer base
•    Defines, coordinates and drives initial technical activities between our customers and our internal stakeholders
•    Works closely with defining project scope and establishing a statement of work with our customer and internal stakeholder
•    Identify NPI thru customer issues/opportunities, find solutions and build business case to support
•    Supports the product roadmap and key technology strategy by identifying and substantiating business opportunities based on VOC
•    Effectively communicates the customer’s product and commercial requirements to the factory through the RTS process.

 


Business Development Functions:

 

•    Execution of sales objectives while meeting and/or exceeding all revenue sales plans.
•    Develops a thorough understanding of key accounts to include: their applications, product requirements, and key decision makers
•    Support sales activity to identify and qualify prospective customers, forecast S&OP funnel utilizing Sales Force software.
•    Works closely with account managers, marketing, sales and technology groups to understand business requirements and market needs. 
•    Establish a business development strategy that has specific initiatives while ensuring compliance with various legal and administrative personnel that align with product and business initiatives
•    Analyses of market trends and opportunities and provides strategic direction to the BU 
•    Recognizes new market segments and opportunities for business development, makes business cases including ROI and identification of resources and actions required to be successful
•    Creates near-term and long-term business development strategies to achieve business objectives and revenue targets
 
 

 

What your background should look like:

•    Candidate must have five or more years of sales experience
•    Mechanical Engineering Degree is preferred
•    Previous technical sales experience to subsea industry, defense industry preferred
•    Strong understanding of government contracting processes and regulations 
•    Must be a great communicator with strong sales presentation skills
•    Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
•    Demonstrated ability to effectively organize, prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks, make decisions and solve problems independently.
•    PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel and Word computer skills are required.
•    Position requires travel (~30%) and ability to operate out of a home office environment.

COMPENSATION
•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $107,000 – 160,000 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
•    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
