Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Continuous Improvement Team lead and support the delivery of programs and projects to continuously improve manufacturing & operational processes or business services aligned with business strategies. You will serve as a role model, an advocate for continuous improvement, streamlining processes by encouraging staff to continuously look for opportunities to make their processes easier and more efficient. You will be highly motivated, passionate about lean mindset, leading change while training and mentoring people in continuous improvement methodologies.

What you'll be doing:

•Assist in the definition of project scoping and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders ensuring technical feasibility of Continuous Improvement Projects.
•Assist in the identification and organization of resources required to achieve successful initiative/project implementation - Coach individual project teams to enable them to succeed in continuous improvement deployment. Review detailed project plans to monitor and track progress.
•The facilitator responsible for assisting the project manager in the successful planning, scheduling and completion of continuous improvement projects.
•Focus initially on Lean Cell Production Systems, roll out and audit Process Improvement Management.
•Act as a ‘Change Agent’ in the introduction of lean tools & principles in manufacturing and drive/sustain improvements by working directly supporting and mentoring Operations and Engineering at all levels.
•Monitor progress of value streams against plans and achievement of continuous improvement against external benchmarking assessment criteria.
•Continuously review and update Value Stream Maps. Responsible for identifying and highlighting further opportunities in delivering improvements in process performance along with identifying opportunities in methodologies that sustain gains.
•Develop skill levels of site personnel to implement and sustain Continuous Improvement.
•Support new product development and new product introduction with smart 3P and innovative cell design.
•Develop, maintain and review continuous improvement training materials to raise the level of awareness and competence around lean methodologies.
•Provide training, coaching and mentoring in lean principles to both direct and indirect including cross-functional personnel.

What your background should look like:

•Experience rolling out & embedding CI methodologies - Confirmed delivery of tangible benefits using CI approach.
•Experience supporting successful project teams, including the development of employees and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders.
•Demonstrated experience in PIM, VSM, 5s, Cell Design, 3P in a manufacturing environment.
•Proven experience in facilitating Kaizen workshop events
•Strong facilitation, coaching, motivational and influencing skills.
•Demonstrated self-direction & organizational skills
•Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
•Experience delivering lean and six sigma training.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
•Proven ability to adapt to changing work priorities in response to a rapidly changing environment.
•Ensures adherence to quality and safety standards with all improvement efforts.
•Bachelor's degree qualified ideally in the Industrial Engineering field or equivalent.
•Lean Six Sigma certification (ideally Black Belt) with 3-5 years post qualification experience.
•Qualifications / Certifications in Lean Practices a distinct advantage.
•Experience in AutoCAD / Solid Works an advantage.
