MGR II OPERATIONS

Job Overview

We are currently seeking an experienced Operations (Plant) Manager for our Relay and Contactors production site located in Mansfield, Ohio. The total headcount for the site is approximately 150. Functions under the Plant Manager’s responsibility, either directly or indirectly, includes EHS, manufacturing, production control, manufacturing engineering, quality, supply chain and shipping/receiving activities. The incumbent will define goals, improve technologies, and resolve problems, translate customer requirements into state-of-the-art manufacturing strategies and processes, resulting in cost-effective processing and profitable manufacturing of company products, as well as developing operations related plans, budgets, policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations to meet and exceed customers’ expectations.  Areas under responsibilities includes manufacturing, supply chain management, capacity planning and forecasting, routine business reviews, engineering and quality functional support.
  • Responsible for providing strategic level/long-term planning (3, 6, and 12 months out) to ensure attainment of business plan for operational goals, labor planning, growth, and profitability
  • Cascade strategic objectives from Segment, Business Unit and Operations functional leadership.
  • Set and clarify requirements and expectations for direct and matrixed reports based on the strategic direction and needs of the business.
  • Plan, direct and monitor production activities with the objective of maximizing the use of organizational.
  • Meet or exceed established targets for TEOA (LEAN), Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Employee Engagement and Talent Development.

 

This position requires access to information which is subject to stringent controls under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or Export Administration Regulations (EAR).   Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. lawful permanent resident, person granted asylee status in the U.S., or person admitted into the U.S. as a refugee.

What your background should look like:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain or Business required
  • Minimum 7 years' experience working with a manufacturing organization with proven success in simplifying processes and increasing production
  • Minimum 5 years of management experience required
  • Solid Union experience and negotiation process
  • Aerospace, Defense or relays/ contactors experience a plus
  • Demonstrated passion for safety
  • Proven ability to lead and drive continuous improvement, performance metrics and lean methodologies
  • Previous P&L responsibility
  • Strong business and financial acumen with the ability to comprehend and analyze numerical and statistical data to drive operational decision-making

ITAR

This position may involve working with technical data, technology, software/source code, hardware or other items (collectively “items) subject to U.S. and non-U.S. export control laws and regulations.  Under these regulations, it may be necessary for TE to verify a candidate’s national origin and/or citizenship status to determine whether a U.S. or other government export license is required prior to releasing its technologies to the candidate.  If TE determines that TE will require a license or will be prohibited by applicable laws from providing the candidate with items necessary for the performance of this position, then TE expressly reserves the right to either a) make an offer of employment contingent upon TE receiving required export licenses from the appropriate government agency, b) consider the candidate for a different position that is not subject to such restrictions, on whatever terms and conditions TE shall establish in its sole discretion, or c) decline to move forward with the candidate’s application.
