Job Overview

Sets up and operates machines and tools to perform various manufacturing operations and maintains them to adhere to quality standards.

Job Requirements

All Machine Set-up operator requirements

    • Must have thorough knowledge of milling and drilling practices, and machine feeds and speeds relative to the working properties of metals and various materials.
    • Make necessary set-ups, adjustments etc. to tools and machines as required, to perform all functions of machine capabilities.
    • Read and interpret blueprints, operation sheets to determine tolerance of machining.
    • Must be able to use a wide variety of measurement instruments to check parts to verify compliance to quality specifications.
    • Must be able to read all types of measuring devices and other inspection devices and other inspection tools required to perform operation.
    • Must be able to edit “M” and “G” codes as required.
    • Must be able to make minor program edits directly at the CNC machine as needed.This includes adjustments to feed rates, spindle speeds, and small positional changes (less than 0.062 inches) to the X, Y, or Z axis to ensure part quality and machine efficiency. Larger program modifications or toolpath changes will be handled by the CNC programmer.
    • Be able to operate in a team environment with work sharing, team problem solving, and team acceptance of responsibility
    • Monitor operations continuously to identify issues such as dull cutting tools or machine malfunctions.
    • Ensure tooling is stored properly and maintained in accordance with safety and operational standards.
    • Train other employees as needed.

What your background should look like

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of CNC Mill operator experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • CNC certification from an accredited, hands-on institution is preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Must successfully pass a background check and drug screening.
  • Must be eligible to work under ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) compliance.

COMPENSATION
•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $49,000 – $52,811 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
•    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
