Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s Quality and Reliability Engineering Teams analyze the ability of product and production systems to comply with customer and contractual requirements through established reliability factors. They design, recommend revisions and install quality control systems, develop and document analytical methods for establishing reliability of products and their components and conduct analysis on relative reliability with regards to cost, structure, weight, maintainability, facility of production, and availability of materials and equipment.

 

Provide advanced technical assistance to Manufacturing support staff, Quality Engineers, and other QA functions as required.

Job Requirements

  • Accountable to quality teams for performance on schedule of assigned technical and/or documentation tasks.
  • Design and develop CMM, Optical measurement equipment, Micro Vu programs to aid in inspection of all inhouse parts.  Design holding fixtures for CMM, Micro Vu for parts requiring inspection.  Fixturing and programming of laser marking machine.
  • Inspect product, and monitor pilot runs as assigned by quality engineers/IE teams.
  • Assist IE in the design & development of new products and/or processes.
  • Assist in development & revisions of quality inspection plans and illustrations.
  • Plan & collect data for problem solving and/or process improvements as instructed. (ie Capability Studies)
  • Prepare quality engineering reports when asked and as applicable. (ie Measure specific or identifiable critical dimensions when needed)
  • Support the Quality function in the day-to-day identification & resolution of production issues.
  • Production line support where applicable and as instructed by QA team.
  • Assistance on projects including cost and process improvements. (ie Digital Factory)

What your background should look like

  • Requires 3 year minimum related experience with inspection and inspection equipment.
  • Experience as a technician in a manufacturing and/or design environment a plus.
  • Two year associates degree in machine technology or engineering and/or equivalent experience.
  • Understanding: FMEA, Control Plans, Validations, Statistical Process Control a plus.
  • Proficiency in blue print reading and Geometric tolerancing.
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills, problem solving skills, organization skills.
  • Working knowledge of pertinent techniques and systems (such as SPC, JIT, MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, CAD, etc).
  • Solid understanding of mechanical and electrical tools along with inspection and test equipment.

COMPENSATION
•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $43,300 - $65,000 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
•    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
