IMPORT/EXPORT ANALYST III
Job Overview
This role will be responsible for executing critical aspects of the Trade Jurisdiction & Classification OSC, delivering timely and accurate determinations of items' jurisdiction and classification for export (including Wassenaar Arrangement, Southeast Asia Dual Use-items, WMD etc.) and import (including Harmonized Tariff System, etc.) to support TE's operations. Key responsibilities related to the Trade Jurisdiction & Classification OSC include but are not limited to assessing and determining the jurisdiction and classification of goods, software, technical information, and services. The role reports to EMEA/APAC execution lead of the Jurisdiction & Classification Operational Service Center (OSC), joining a team of global trade professionals passionate about ensuring the future growth of the business by providing business solutions for compliance with international trade laws and regulations.

Responsibilities:
- Assess and make determinations of the jurisdiction and classification of goods, software, technical information, and services for purposes of export and import
- Maintain TE operations and compliance activities by applicable export and import laws and regulations, TE policies, procedures, and controls in collaboration with the GTS Governance Team and other OSC service areas
- Provide a high level of operational services to enable TE to conduct trade compliantly and efficiently while limiting risks
- Maintain Service Level Agreements with GTS Operational Compliance teams, including Segment and BU leads, to ensure sound and consistent business practices and broad company awareness of OSC requirements
- Design and leverage trade data analytics to identify compliance risks, cost-savings opportunities, and other metrics of value and effectiveness
- Contribute to strategic projects focused on enhancing the capabilities of TE's jurisdiction and classification systems and other business systems that utilize jurisdiction and classification data to drive efficiencies and cost savings for the company
- Partner with GTS Governance to monitor trade compliance regulatory and legislative changes, assess the potential impact on the business, and determine the necessary actions and communications with the appropriate stakeholders
- Conduct periodic planning sessions in collaboration with GTS Governance and Operational Compliance teams to align on strategy, results, and opportunities.

- Success in the role requires strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills, strategic analysis and planning capabilities involving complex situations, highly developed oral and written communication skills, and the ability to coordinate interdisciplinary teams (internal and external) to drive issues and projects to conclusions.
- In addition, the successful candidate will have the following qualifications, experience, and skills:
- Bachelor's degree required (engineering, supply chain, law, or related field preferred)
- 4+ years of experience in international trade, focusing primarily on trade compliance and management of trade jurisdiction and classification assessments and determinations
- Preferred: 3+ years of experience in communications, industrial, or transportation industries
- Functional knowledge of export classification, including direct experience classifying products under the local Thailand (DUIs) for Import/Export controls and other Wassenaar Arrangement regimes
- Functional knowledge of customs classification, including direct experience classifying products under the Harmonized Tariff System
- Highly developed decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment
- Proven ability to execute and provide results despite challenges and setbacks.
