Job Overview

The Procurement Analyst gathers, interprets, and uses complex data to develop actionable steps to improve processes and optimize results for a commodity/category of direct components. Responsibilities include assessing business unit, site, and internal customer needs, reviewing and analyzing reliable information, and looking for trends or areas for improvement. Develops strategy with management to optimize VMI, supply base, and cost reduction for the benefit of TE and in alignment with business unit strategies. Develops and sustains robust business relationships with internal customers and external suppliers.
A Procurement Analyst is also responsible for representing procurement with cross-functional engineering, finance, quality, and operations teams.
 
Description of the primary work duties and major responsibilities:
  • Working in a global environment
  • Preparation of internal and supplier meetings based on key figures
  • Preparation of tender documents and evaluation of tenders
  • Gathering data and facts to identify potential savings
  • Data preparation and analysis in the preparation of projects
  • Preparation, implementation, and follow-up of potential workshops with internal functional departments and suppliers
  • Developing new approaches and processes to identify optimization measures in close coordination with the line manager
  • System maintenance (TEBIT)
  • Ongoing plan tracking, deviation analysis, and development of solution approaches
  • Collaboration in projects
  • Presentation of analysis results and recommendations for optimization
  • Support in the development and implementation of the purchasing strategy
  • Builds strong relationships with internal customers to optimize performance.

What your background should look like:

  • 5+ years’ Experience in the field
  • Bachelor’s degree (Business Management, Statistics, Mathematics) or equivalent
  • Strong strategic-analytical skills and very good comprehension skills
  • Knowledge of ERP systems as applicable to purchasing (SAP knowledge is a plus)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (Fluent in English language) other languages are an advantage
  • Strong strategic-analytical skills and very good comprehension skills
  • Negotiation and analytical skills
  • Advance use of MS office application mainly focus in Excel
  • Solid presentation skills, will be presenting to upper management (Sr. Mgrs. and Directors)
  • Communication and teamwork skills as well as strong implementation skills
