Global Freight Procurement Manager
Job Overview
TE Connectivity's Distribution & Logistics Teams manage the efficient flow of goods, services and information between point of origin through customer placement in order to meet customer requirements or internal business objectives. They create integrated processes among internal functions such as operations, purchasing and logistics, and outside suppliers. They also focus resources on continuous improvement of the movement of materials through various production processes, and establish key performance metrics and benchmarks relating to supply chain planning/forecasting to measure actual performance against goals on a regular basis.
What your background should look like:
Global role reporting to Global Freight Procurement Leader, accountable for global freight procurement, freight optimization and global forwarder performance management.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities-
- Align procurement strategy and execution with regional transportation leaders and BU logistics council members across the globe.
- Execute the competitive bid, negotiation, contracting processes for global transportation service – Air, Ocean and small parcel. Ensure bid results are executed among TE organization.
- Data mining and freight analysis for competitive bid, shipment activity. Identify the productivity opportunity and productivity project implementation
- Work with global freight forwarder and collaborate across business units and different region on cost saving initiatives through process improvements
- Monitor global supplier performance metrics. Drive continuous forwarder performance improvement including on time delivery, damage control and report etc.
- Conduct regular industry and market research to understand, analyze and report latest market trends and conditions
- Keep abreast of emerging technology changes and innovations through formal or informal workshop, newsletter or industry publications.
Skills-
- Strategic thinking and know-how of end-to-end supply chain& logistics
- Solid hands-on experience and insights on international and domestic freight
- Ability to reporting, business correspondence and presentation to different level audience
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to drive the result across the global organization.
- Analytical skill and business acumen
Qualifications – Education-
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
Experience -
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in logistics roles from global forwarding industry (key account management role preferred with solid operation knowledge) or multinational manufacturing industry (as corporation function)
- Independent project management experience is a must
