Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s R&D/Product Development Engineering Teams conceive original ideas for new products, introduce them into practice. They are responsible for product development, and qualification from market definition through production and release; assist in the qualification of suppliers for new products to ensure suppliers deliver quality parts, materials, and services for new or improved manufacturing processes; conduct feasibility studies, testing on new and modified designs; direct and support detailed design, testing, prototype fabrication and manufacturing ramp. The R&D/Product Development Engineering Teams provide all required product documentation including, but not limited to, Solid Model, 2D/3D production drawings, product specifications, and testing requirements. They create and modify detailed drawings and drafting or conceptual models from layouts, rough sketches or notes and contribute to design modifications to facilitate manufacturing operation or quality of product. Typical fields of expertise include: materials, mechanics and systems, electrical, optics, chemistry, software, automation systems, packaging, testing and measurement, and manufacturing of electrical, mechanical and electronic components, products, and their integration into systems.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

The Engineering Technician is in charge of :
- Ensure the life of products of the connectors in production (management of the obsolescence, updating documentary, bringing into conformity following a SAV or the environmental constraints, ...)
- In the framework of a development project, in support of the holder of the project, draw up and distribute the plans, nomenclatures and supporting documents necessary for the models, prototypes and products, as well as the documentation necessary for the implementation of the products by the user
- Guarantee the functionality of the products (re-dimensioning of dimensions, electrical dimensioning, mechanical strength, design tests ...)
- Work in partnership with the Methods department for the definition of the tools and the industrialization of the product
- Analyze and evaluate the failures on the connector following a test or a service and propose the most suitable solutions
- Set up test sequences in collaboration with the Laboratory, analyze the results and participate in the development and validation of the reports
- Provide technical support for Purchasing, Laboratory, Machining, Assembly ...
- Improve the processes of the railway design office


Diploma in mechanic
First experience as Engineering Technician in R&D department
Creativity, proactivity
Good analytical and synthesis skills, critical approach
Good ability to listen and express yourself, and to work as a team
English read and written obligatory, spoken is a plus
