Controls Engineer

Job Overview

We are now hiring an Automation / Programmable Controls Engineer at our facility in Landisville, PA. The ideal candidate can plan, track, and bring projects to a successful completion per budget and drive continuous improvement and corrective action activities.  The engineer will be required to assist maintenance personnel in complex troubleshooting and provide engineering support to other departments as needed.   Relocation assistance provided to qualified candidates. 

 

Main job functions:

  • Design, install, and program automated equipment involving programmable logic controllers, robotics, vision systems, pneumatic and electrical instrumentations.
  • Process control and integration into new and existing equipment.
  • The main focus will be to lead and assist in the building and implementation of automated systems into the plant and complete detailed operating procedures for use on the production floor.  
  • Daily activities will be prioritized based on current plant(s) needs. 
  • Require domestic travel up to 25%. 

What your background should look like:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering; and 5 (five) years of experience in automation programming, OR equivalent combinations of education, training and experience.
  • Experience in PLC programming and prior use of CAD systems.
  • Understanding of instrumentation and the automatic control of dynamic processes. 
  • A thorough understanding of plant electrical and electronic equipment including motor drives, instrumentation and troubleshooting.
  • 5S/Six Sigma and Lean Environment experience preferred. 

 

This position requires access to information which is subject to stringent controls under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or Export Administration Regulations (EAR).   Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. lawful permanent resident, person granted asylee status in the U.S., or person admitted into the U.S. as a refugee.
