Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Strategic Sourcing Teams develop and implement multi-year strategies for assigned commodities, suppliers and parts/services to achieve established goals in supplier quality, delivery, price and service. They align strategy and execution with cross-functional partners such as engineering, manufacturing, product management and functional owners. They execute the competitive bid, negotiation, contracting processes and/or technical continuous improvement for assigned commodities or services; collaborate across Business Units and cross-regions for optimal TE leverage. Our teams demonstrate a high level of expertise in procurement competencies (business/supply chain acumen, negotiation, sourcing strategy development and execution, global savvy, and project and product lifecycle management) and ensure results are delivered compliant with TE policies and procedures.

What your background should look like:

Responsibilities:

  • Appraise vendor manufacturing ability through on site visit and measurement 
  • Negotiate price and term with suppliers 
  • Control and improve material cost spending
  • Monitor suppliers performance to assess ability to meet quality and delivery requirement 
  • Follow up overall department cost reduction budget and action plan to meet target timely
  • Involvement in cost estimation process for new product
  • Perform sourcing process on time, accuracy of document, negotiation competitive price & tooling and compliance with TE-ERNI policy (RFQ & term 
  • Supplier selection
  • Manage PO issue
  • Manage mitigation of price increase from supplier
  • Coordinate with supplier regarding TE-ERNI's cost reduction and other activities
  • Manage supply base / relationship and problem solving on supplier concerns
  • Maintain / update purchasing database
  • Assists sorting of specs by vendors for Purchasing Manager’s review
  • All other duties as assigned by Purchasing Manager

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in any related fields
  • 5-7 years work experience in both domestic and international purchasing
  • Good language skill in English (writing, reading and speaking)
  • Procurement  , SCM knowledge 
  • Knowledge in ISO/IATF 16949 and internal auditor
  • Computer literacy (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Strong negotiation skill, well organized, flexible, initiative and self-motivated
  • Knowledge of ERP, SAP
