MFG & PROCESS DVL ENGINEER II
Job Overview
TE Connectivity is seeking a MFG & PROCESS DVL ENGINEERING II for Data & Device BU with location in Lamphun, Thailand. The MPDE CA will provides guidance and leadership on manufacturing processes development and automation engineers tasked with developing assembly processes for high-speed cable assemblies. In order to support organizational manufacturing goals; performs research on products and manufacturing process and share the same with senior engineers.
Job Requirements
Process Solution Development
- Design and optimize production process routes based on product drawings and specifications.
- Select raw materials, plan processes (e.g., cutting, welding, assembly), and define equipment parameters.
- Lead DOE development to ensure stable mass production.
- Conduct DFM reviews for new products and provide manufacturability recommendations.
- Develop trial production plans, participate in trials, and resolve process-related issues.
Process Documentation
- Create and maintain standardized documents including SOPs, process flowcharts, PFMEA, and inspection standards.
- Ensure clarity in operational procedures and quality control points for consistent execution.
Efficiency & Quality Optimization
- Analyze current processes and apply lean tools (e.g., 5S, value stream mapping) and technical improvements.
- Reduce costs, shorten cycle times, and increase production capacity.
- Collaborate with quality teams to investigate and resolve process-related defects and inefficiencies.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work with R&D to review product designs and promote Design for Manufacturability (DFM).
- Coordinate with supply chain to ensure raw material compatibility and resolve supplier-related issues.
- Support production teams with training on new processes and equipment.
- Partner with automation teams to review and validate automation solutions.
Innovation & Cost Reduction
- Stay informed on industry advancements (e.g., 3D printing, laser welding).
- Evaluate and implement new technologies to upgrade processes.
- Drive cost reduction through process optimization and alternative material usage without compromising quality.
What your background should look like
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Automation, or related fields.
Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of core manufacturing processes such as machining, electronic assembly, and heat treatment.
- Familiarity with production processes in industries like automotive, electronics, or machinery manufacturing.
- Proficient in interpreting technical drawings using CAD/SolidWorks.
- Skilled in data analysis using tools like Minitab, especially for defect root cause analysis.
- Knowledge of Lean Production and Six Sigma methodologies; experience in process optimization projects is a plus.
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in process development or technical support within relevant manufacturing industries.
- Experience with high-speed cable equipment and related process requirements is preferred.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent problem-solving abilities to quickly identify and resolve process issues.
- Strong communication and coordination skills for cross-functional collaboration.
- High adaptability and learning agility to keep pace with new products and technologies.
