Job Overview
The Manufacturing Engineer I (Cable Assembly Automation) is responsible for supporting automation initiatives within cable assembly processes. This role involves designing, developing, and improving automated machines, fixtures, and control systems to enhance productivity, quality, and efficiency. The position also provides technical support during production start-up and ensures compliance with engineering and safety standards.
Job Requirements
- Collaborate with process teams and vendors to review automation machine and fixture designs; qualify and accept new machines; set up maintenance plans and implement improvements for mass production.
- Develop and program automatic control equipment based on production requirements.
- Provide technical support during pilot runs, production start-up, and changeovers.
- Implement digital factory solutions to improve real-time process control.
- Identify and troubleshoot complex electrical and mechanical issues in automation lines.
- Guide technicians during line maintenance and changeovers to ensure smooth machine operation.
- Develop tooling, fixtures, and equipment; create maintenance plans and machine operation instructions.
- Support NPI and mass production process improvements to meet production requirements while ensuring machine stability and safety.
What your background should look like
- Bachelor’s degree in Automation, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- New grades are welcome 0–2 years of experience in manufacturing or automation process engineering.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes, tools, and automation systems.
- Proficiency in MS Office; experience with CAD or ERP systems is a plus.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
