Job Overview

EH & S SPECIALIST I is responsible for maintaining a safe and healthy workplace by ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, company standards, and legal requirements. The role involves conducting safety inspections and risk assessments, managing contractor safety and permit systems, delivering safety training, investigating incidents and near-misses, and promoting a strong safety culture across all site operations to minimize risks and prevent accidents.

Job Requirements

1. Compliance & Policies: 

  • Enforce company and legal safety standards (e.g., ISO45001, local regulations, TE requirement and other obligations).

2. Inspections & Risk Assessments: 

    • Contractor control:
      • Ensure employees and contractors comply with all safety policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
      • Manage the work‑permit system to ensure all permitted tasks are completed safely and under proper controls.
      • Conduct contractor safety training and support the contractor management system.
    • Safety Patrol:
      • Lead and coordinate all site Health & Safety programs such as Safety Committee Patrol, LOTO Patrol, Gemba walk, including Behavior Based Safety, to drive strong safety performance.
    • JSA and Risk Assessment:
      • Review existing JSA and Risk Assessment to ensure hazards are mitigated or reduced with proper hierarchy of control.
    • Ergonomic assessment:
      • Conduct ergonomics assessment to reduce long term ill health.

3. Training & Education: 

  • Organize safety training for new join and all employees, Educate and communicate to employees with Weekly Safety moment, Daily EHS radio, and emergency drills.
  • Support the planning, delivery, and tracking of Health & Safety training for employees and contractors.

4. Incident Investigation: 

  • Investigate incidents or near-misses, conduct root cause analysis, and recommend corrective actions by 5Why - 7Area.
  • Follow up on incident or near-miss reports, track corrective actions to improve safety performance.

5. Safety Equipment: 

  • Verify the adequacy of safety equipment and systems—including fire horse, fire extinguisher, firefighting equipment, PPE, emergency equipment, first aid facilities, and safety signage—in line with Thai legal and TE requirements.

6. Documentation: 

  • Maintain meticulous records of safety inspections, JSA, risk assessment, ergonomic assessment, training, and incidents. 
  • Assist in preparing and updating safety procedures and documentation in compliance with Thai legislation and relevant standards.

What your background should look like

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent.
  • Willingness to be on‑call and respond to plant needs during startups, process upsets, equipment failures, or emergency situations.
  • Able to work effectively in both office environments and outdoor process areas.
  • Able to communicate in both written and spoken English.
  • Knowledge: Deep understanding of occupational health and safety regulations, ISO45001,  Behavior Based Safety (BBS) principles and practices.
  • Communication: Excellent ability to educate staff, cooperate with all departments and report to management.
  • Critical Thinking: Strong hazard identification, problem-solving skills and time management.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in safety‑related roles.
