Job Overview

The Buyer is responsible for managing end‑to‑end procurement activities—creating purchase orders, monitoring material schedules, ensuring material availability for production, maintaining inventory levels, and coordinating with suppliers and cross‑functional teams. The role supports both domestic and international procurement, contributes to cost‑reduction initiatives, and ensures supplier performance aligns with business needs.

Job Requirements

  • Manage material requirements planning (MRP) and generate purchase order to suppliers.
  • Monitor inventory levels and maintain safety stock.
  • Coordinate with suppliers on deliveries, lead times, and RM shortages
  • Provide material status updates to planning teams
  • Update and monitor supplier delivery schedule and prompt update in MRP.
  • Immediately inform the superior if any nonconformity is occurring.
  • Create material purchase order according to customer demand, production schedule.
  • Follow up material schedule to support production plan smoothly.
  • Review materials status to align materials scheduling with suppliers.
  • Reviewing excess material, analysing safety stock levels to meet the changing customer demand changes, and supporting the initiatives related to lean production.
  • Monitor KPI inventory levels to prevent shortages, excess stock, and obsolescence, delivery performance (On time delivery (OTD), Supplier Quality performance
  • Collaborate with planning, production, engineering, Quality, Global SCM to ensure material availability.
  • Appraise vendor manufacturing ability through on site visit and measurement
  • Follow up overall department cost reduction budget and action plan to meet target timely
  • Coordinate with supplier regarding TE-ERNI's cost reduction and other activities
  • Manage supply base / relationship and problem solving on supplier concerns
  • Maintain / update purchasing database
  • All other duties as assigned by Purchasing Manager
  • Working in Logistic to follow up shipping documents for both TE’s Interco and external suppliers, check and verify documents for accuracy

What your background should look like

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience & Skills

  • 5–7 years in procurement (domestic & international).
  • Strong English skills (reading, writing, speaking).
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, planning and problem‑solving skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Able to work under pressure with tight schedules.
  • Teamwork and collaborative mindset.
  • Well‑organized, flexible, self‑motivated.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 / ISO 14001.
  • SAP ERP/MRP experience (preferred).
  • Internal Auditor (ISO 9001) is an advantage.
  • Proven experience managing MRP, placing purchase orders, and coordinating with suppliers.
  • Strong track record in inventory management—avoiding shortages, excess stock, and obsolescence.
  • Experience in supplier relationship management, vendor assessment, and problem‑solving.
  • Comfortable working in fast‑paced manufacturing environments and collaborating with planning, production, engineering, quality, and global SCM teams.
  • Data‑driven, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities with a continuous‑improvement mindset.
