CS is a global business segment of TE.  CS is one of the world’s largest suppliers of electronic components–including connectors, cable assemblies, relays, antennas for the data communications, industrial, commercial, medical and solar industries. DND is a global business unit under CS, focusing on data communications market.  The position reports to the Assistant General Counsel, Data and Devices business unit.  

 

Overview 
 This position is primarily responsible for independently drafting and reviewing commercial contracts relating to the day-to-day activities of the company as well as the related manufacturing plants.  The incumbent will also have the opportunity to be engaged in various projects, such as footprint projects, M&A etc.  In addition, the incumbent will have exposures to all kind of compliance related matters, such as compliance investigation, EICC, REACH, RoHS, Conflict Mineral etc. 

 

Key Responsibilities
•    Contract drafting/review, workflow and process
Draft/review commercial contracts and manage the contract review work flow by interfacing with other functions, including but not limited to product management, operations, procurement, quality, sales, marketing, engineering, finance, trade compliance, and real estate etc.  Monitor usage of the Contract Management System to make sure all the contracts in the system follow the contract review process.  Coordinate with the system owner and provide daily support to local users to ensure the system operates smoothly.  Track, maintain and establish the file system for all copies of the original executed contracts, and coordinate and respond to inquiries regarding the archived contracts.

•    Project participation
Actively involved in and/or co-lead projects within the BU.  Project may include but not limited to footprint projects, mergers and acquisition, dispute resolution etc.
•    Compliance process
Work with various functions and local plant colleagues regarding request for EICC, REACH, RoHS, Conflict Mineral etc. related compliance documents and declarations.  Able to conduct compliance investigation and trainings.

 

Requirements and Qualifications
•    Graduating from an accredited law program or a law degree is a must. 
•    That the candidate passed the bar exam in at least one jurisdiction is a must.  Passing the PRC bar is strongly preferred. 
•    At least two to three years of relevant work experience in a law firm or an international corporation.
•    Hardworking and diligent at work.
•    Strong legal sense and sophisticated logical thinking.
•    Can independently draft and review commercial contracts and documents.
•    Fluency in reading, writing and speaking English is required. Mandarin fluency (reading, writing and speaking) is strongly preferred. Additional language skill is a plus.
•    Excellent communication skills.
