Tool & Die Team Leader (1st shift)

Job Overview

Department: Stamping

1st Shift (6am - 3:30pm, Monday-Friday)

As Stamping T&D Group Leader, you will;

•    Provide leadership to Stamping team
•    Daily interaction with department team lead and supervisor to maximize productivity and prioritize daily activities 
•    Train, develop and mentor team to troubleshoot and fix processing problems
•    As required, making sure all factory order packets are printed and ready for upcoming orders
•    Providing guidance and increasing factory orders based on production demands
•    Reviewing completed factory orders and verifying reported production. If necessary, making adjustments to reported production.
•    Assist in changeovers and setups.
•    Training all associates on duties and responsibilities in all job classifications. This would include any new equipment such as cameras, auxiliary equipment, as well as new procedures
•    Lead daily GO meeting
•    Participate and lead continuous improvement initiatives through TEOA
•    Attention to 5S, Safety Standards, and fair, firm, and consistent enforcement of company and plant procedures and policies
•    Inspect stamped product using dial calipers, micrometers, and hard gaging and prescribed by the quality inspection plan
•    Complete Weekly Preventative Maintenance tasks for assigned equipment and closing of Action Items found during audits
•    Review, audit and make improvements to existing tooling and update drawings
•    Perform die and die module changeovers 
•    Perform preventive maintenance and die conditioning
•    Sharpen, repair and create close tolerance tooling to re-build a die.
•    Support stamping production by troubleshooting more complex dies (set up and production)
•    Training support to apprenticeship program
•    Support production floor 

This position requires access to information which is subject to stringent controls under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. lawful permanent resident, person granted asylee status in the U.S., or person admitted into the U.S. as a refugee.

What your background should look like:

•    Minimum 5yrs of experience running a stamping shop
•    Experience with progressive and deep draw dies
•    Metal turning/grinding/machining experience.
•    Prior experience with use of precision measuring instruments.
•    Ability to read and interpret blue prints
•    Good problem solving & organizational skills
•    Ability to work independently and within a team environment
•    Will work overtime to support production goals, as needed
•    A safety and quality conscious attitude working in a team environment. 
•    Prior knowledge of Bruder Stamping Presses is preferred 
•    Experience with SAP is a plus
•    HS Diploma, GED, or equivalent
•    Completion of a federal or state apprenticeship program is required
Physical requirements:
•    Must be able to lift/push/pull and carry a minimum weight of 50 lbs
•    Frequently required to extend arms and hands between knees and shoulders, frequent holding and grasping with hands
•    Frequent standing and walking is required in this job
