Job Overview

The Plating Operator 3 is responsible for operating and monitoring electroplating, metal finishing, and surface treatment equipment to apply protective or decorative coatings to manufactured parts. This position ensures products meet quality specifications, safety requirements, and production schedules while maintaining plating baths, equipment, and process documentation.

Job Requirements

  • Set up and operate plating lines, tanks, rectifiers, and related equipment.
  • Load and unload parts onto racks, baskets, or fixtures.
  • Prepare parts through cleaning and surface preparation processes.
  • Monitor current, voltage, temperature, pH, and chemical concentrations.
  • Inspect plated parts for quality and defects.
  • Record production and process data.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and process issues.
  • Follow safety, quality, and environmental procedures.

What your background should look like

Education: High school diploma or GED required; technical training preferred.

Experience: Manufacturing, plating, metal finishing, or chemical processing experience preferred.

Skills: Attention to detail, basic math, troubleshooting, and ability to follow work instructions.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Lift and carry up to 30 pounds. Ability to work around chemicals and wear required PPE.

Work Environment

Manufacturing environment with exposure to chemicals, fumes, noise, and varying temperatures.

Performance Expectations

Meet production and quality goals, follow safety requirements, minimize defects, maintain accurate documentation, and demonstrate reliability and teamwork.

COMPENSATION
•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $19.00/hour o $20.00/Hour + 10% Shift Differential for working on 2nd Shift. (subject to change dependent on physical location)
•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
•    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
