Packaging Team Leader (1st shift)

Job Overview

Shift: 1st 

As Packaging Team Leader, you will;

  • Pack component and finished product and other packaging processes
  • Assign daily work to the Team by prioritizing Packaging Dispatch
  • Utilize manual and automatic weighing and packaging equipment
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness in the work area within TEOA initiatives
  • Prepare skids to be transferred to various ship points by creating transfer orders and wrapping completed skids for delivery
  • Participate in maintaining inventory of packaging supplies including those consumed by other departments
  • Trains other employees and agency workforce for success
  • Participates in continuous improvement efforts to improve flow and reduce the likelihood of mistakes
  • Facilitate Go Meeting and Overtime needs for the Packing Department
  • Report shortfalls and deficiencies to Supervisor

What your background should look like:

  • Must be open to learning how to operate automatic packing machinery.
  • Basic Computer Skills-Web Browser, Microsoft Excel and Outlook
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Experience with SAP is preferred but not required
  • Must have good communication and leadership skills
  • Detail-oriented and focused on packing a quality product
  • This position requires access to information which is subject to stringent controls under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. lawful permanent resident, person granted asylee status in the U.S., or person admitted into the U.S. as a refugee.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift/push/pull and carry a minimum weight of 50 lbs.
  • Frequently required to extend arms and hands between knees & shoulders; frequent holding and grasping with hands.
  • Use of pallet jack and hand truck is required to transport products and packaging material.
  • Frequent standing and walking is required.
