Materials Planner II

Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Materials Planning Teams are responsible for the plans, schedules, and monitoring of the movement of material through the production cycle. They determine quantity and order date for materials to meet production or engineering schedules, initiate purchase or production requisitions compliant with supply agreements, and develop the schedule to be used in the production facility based on forecasts and historical analysis. The Team develops specifications for new contract orders as well as forecasts and plans for labor requirements. They provide timely and accurate input on supplier performance and may be asked to participate in higher level supplier performance reviews with the strategic sourcing team. They also monitor cost, schedule and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality at best value.

What you'll be Doing...
•    Scheduling production orders and ship date to meet customer demand & utilize the most out of the shop capacity.
•    Working with vendors to address bottlenecks and find long term solutions.
•    Working on daily basis with warehouse and production teams.
•    Continuous improvement projects optimizing material flow and devising efficient and effective material replenishment methods.
•    Strong communication skills, the ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment, work collaboratively with your peers, influence and train others if needed.
•    Applying best practices and with thinking outside the box approaches

Performance Objectives:
•    On Time Delivery to request dates and confirmed dates.
•    Inventory Reduction in alignment with TE targets.
•    Lead times to the customer.
•    Continuous improvement impact on savings and delivery.

What your background should look like:
•    BA/BS degree preferred.
•    High Analytical & data mining skills with the passion to problem solve and not to be limited only to day-to-day routine.
•    Prior Experience with S&OP Planning, Master Production Scheduling and line balancing.
•    Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience required.
•    SAP experience preferred.
•    APICS Certificate or working towards it is preferred.
•    Strong communication skills, the ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment, work collaboratively with your peers and train others if needed.
•    Self-motivation - be able to work under pressure, be flexible, reliable and able to deliver results according to specific targets in direct support of departmental goals and objectives.
