Job Overview

The Manufacturing Team Leader II leads an assigned production team to achieve safety, quality, delivery, productivity, waste, uptime, and cost objectives. The role serves as a primary contact for day-to-day manufacturing activities, directs employees in executing established processes, supports problem resolution, and drives continuous improvement while developing team capability.

Job Requirements

·    Lead daily production operations and ensure established production targets and customer requirements are met.

·    Monitor and support safety, quality, productivity, scrap or waste, uptime, and cost performance.

·    Allocate employees and other resources according to production plans, priorities, and schedule changes.

·    Train and coach new and existing team members on standard operating procedures, processing techniques, equipment, job responsibilities, quality procedures, and required certifications.

·    Confirm that job orders, work instructions, line layouts, equipment, tooling, prints, and in-process inspection requirements are properly followed.

·    Analyze production results, identify concerns, and communicate performance and issues to the supervisor.

·    Lead daily Tier I meetings and coordinate troubleshooting and problem-solving activities.

·    Support 5S, safety standards, quality-system requirements, and consistent application of company and plant procedures.

·    Lead or participate in continuous improvement activities and process-improvement projects.

·    Coordinate with Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, Production Control, Human Resources, and other support functions when issues require broader assistance.

·    Review completed production orders and verify that production reporting and required documentation are accurate.

·    Promote teamwork, accountability, positive engagement, inclusion, and a culture of continuous improvement.

What your background should look like

·    High school diploma or GED; technical, vocational, or associate-level education may be preferred.

·    Relevant manufacturing or production experience, including experience guiding or leading production employees.

·    Working knowledge of production processes, manufacturing safety, quality systems, 5S, and continuous improvement.

·    Ability to read and follow work instructions, production documentation, and applicable technical information.

·    Basic computer, data-entry, and math skills; experience with SAP or another manufacturing resource-planning system may be preferred.

·    Strong communication, interpersonal, coaching, organization, and problem-solving skills.

·    Ability to prioritize work, respond to production issues, and collaborate with cross-functional support departments.
